I agree, love the 85-86 nose. They swapped interiors also. Which is what you see before you :D

Turn signals in the crash bumper are odd. Don't know much about 4 eyes cars though, sure doesn't seem factory to me?

Edit:they're factory

The more you know!

Been trying to draw out plans and ideas. Will probably just do chassis/suspension stuff for a while.
Right now the priority is 5 lug conversion.

I also want to look into mini tubbing the car and possibly relocating the shocks and narrowing the rear end. The Team Z kit looks good. This is foreign territory for me though

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

I used the Wolfe mini tubs when I did them on the Hoopty 1.0. Buy them unassembled. It takes 20 minutes and saves you a bunch of money. Install should be pretty straight forward, but I definitely recommend tracing where the tubs sit and making your initial cut undersized and then trimming the floor pans to where you need them to be. If I did it again, I'd probably leave the pans about a 1/2" long and cut tabs to bend up at 90 degrees so it lays flat against the tub and gives you an easier surface to weld on. Where the vertical piece of the tub meets the floor was kind of a pain to weld.

I'll keep this in mind. I'll have to dig up your old thread.

So many moons have passed. The world has seen the end of any formal civilization. Over time, the surface of the earth is wiped clean. Nothing resembling the world that we know today exists without careful examination and extrication.

The new civilization that populates this world will one day have the technology and interest to look and piece together the inhabitants before them. Before that level of technology arises... I'm sure that cars will exist.

There's just one problem. The new inhabitants will have no earthly idea that their first repair shop will be built upon the ruins, no, the very graveyard of.....

You might be laughing now but.... Some ass hole from a distant civilization is going to find this chit and build museums thinking that LS motors came in Fords! :fuss:

It'll be like the Brontosaurus thing all over again. Wrong head, wrong body. :dammit:

Picked up some 94-95 spindles, calipers and rotors today. Been cruising classifieds trying to piece together the 5 lug stuff so I can put my other draglites on it (I hate draglites...)

Undecided how to approach the rear axle stuff as of now.

Been out a while... Dropped in to find this. At first i was surprised, but then I remembered who this is here.

Another project...

Jegs has house brand hardened axles for cheaper that the moser stuff. Hard to beat that unless you find some used.
Thanks for the heads up. I'm on the fence there.

I think I'm going to skip out on the mini-tub step for the time being. I'd still like to do eliminators or even 9" ends but then I'll have to make an investment in the rear brakes and I'm not well versed in my options once you Switch axle shafts.
Need to pull the 8.8 this week and see what it's got going on. Supposedly has a spool but odds are its still 28 spline stock axles.
