Tasca Mustang Shootout

If you want to run heads up you can run factory stock. There's probaly going to be some pretty quick one's in that class or you can run in the ford bracket class. :)

I will most likely be second round fodder if I get my car there. If not I might be piloting my dads 1991 LX which should go in the low 12s and stand a decent shot at going rounds! I know of a few low 12s car going to be there!

Thanks, I was up there this past Sat. I ran a [email protected] with a bad 1.49 60' time. I ran the tire pressure a little high (14lbs.) to get used to the top end.I have'nt raced a real fast car in a couple of years. This Sat. I plan on running a lower tire pressure and the 60's should hopefully get in the high 1.3's and bring my 1/4 times down a coupe of tenths.
If I was'nt running a cog belt I could run in street shootout :nonono: but I will now run in street outlaw.
See you guys up there. Look for a white fox body saleen.

If your slicks are missing...they'll be on my car

I'll be going up unless a disaster strikes. I hope to improve on my 14.1 @ 102 during the Fun Ford Weekend. Since then, we've installed an 8.8 rearend with 31 spline axles, 4.30 gears, Detroit locker unit and upper/lower control arms. We'll also be using E.T. Streets vs. Radial T/A's. I hope to be in the 12's, but you never know.

I just beat my best 14.6 with running a 14.4 today, That was my last run for the year and I went out happy. Im sure I will be in the 13's next year once I have added more mods...(Steeda Pullies, Steeda Timing adjuster set to 14*, C&L Intake Plenum, 75mm Accufab Throttle Body, Mac 2-1/2" H-pipe, 3.73 Ford Racing Gears) OHHH YEAA IMMA BE READY Next Year!!!

Well we had a so-so day today. We beat our previous best of 14.1 @ 102 with a 13.3 @ 100 (missing 4th gear.) My car now has a total of 6 runs on it ranging from a 16.5 @ 100 down to the 13.3 @ 100 (all with missed shifts.)

We've been having trouble shifting it on the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts. It either won't go in or it grinds. The tranny, cable, clutch, and everything else that goes with it are brand new. I'm kind of lost. But today, I looked at two other cars with the same clutch firewall adjuster as mine and I noticed that mine is mounted differently (my novice mistake.)

I'm hoping that this is our problem. I'm going to reinstall it the "correct" way and we'll be making one more trip up there. I know that we've got a mid 12 second run in this thing as we cut 1.75 '60 foot times and we're also running 86 mph in the 1/8th.

All in all it was a good day, not enough fast cars though....and too damn much down time with people dragging fluid down the track instead of pulling over when it breaks.

I ran my Cobra for the fist time ever and pulled a 12.40 @ 115 on the F1's....I wasn't there to pull an actual time out of the car or I would have brought slicks or slipped the **** out of the clutch.....had a few words with some ignorant ass people for parking directly in back of my trailer......for those of you that dont know, do not park your car in back of someone trailer......it's pretty obvious that a car came on it and the spot your in is the owners.....I really had to hold back when one of the asses attempted to get cocky with me.....ok my rant is over, sorry!

I had a alright day.My goal fo the day was to qualify in the top 5 and I qualified #2 in street shootout. There was only one other car in my class that ran nines and he redlit in round one.So when I went up for my second round i said to myself If I just cut a few good lights like i've been (all in the .510-.550 range) and hit my shift points I can win this thing. In that round I had the guy big time at half track and lifted and coasted to a 10.2 but when I got the end and making the turn I put it in second and heard a loud clunk in the tranny and then slipped so bad I barely got it back to my pit spot. My day was done which sucked because the fastest car left only ran a 10.1 while on the gas the whole track :nonono: :bang:

Well, if that car in front of your trailer was a red '03 Cobra, I guess that I am the a$$. That was my noobie mistake, and I told you I was sorry. Hopefully you didn't think I was getting cocky with you, because I felt like an a$$ about it. That WONT happen again!! Anyways, congrats on your time, and best of luck to you :nice: .

BTW, I ran a new best of [email protected]

That did'nt happen to me yesterday but used to happen all the time down in E town to me  . When ever I go there now I put a orange cone in my spot.

Silver83GT, not bad at all for your first time. I remember my first time and its is a learning experience.A little practice and you could get it in the 14's which is great for a basicly stock '83. :nice:

I thought it was a pretty good day with the exception of all the break downs and the waits that followed. I got to give a big :nice: to Mike (BADSTANG), this guy went from running mid 13's a few weeks ago to consistant low 12's yesterday with a best of 11.9!!! He's a VERY quick learner!! Look out for him next year, because I truely believe after a few more sessions, we may be seeing consistant low 11's, and possibly high 10's out of him!!

Thanks for the props Dan :D I really like to think the car has mid to low 11's in it, but I don't think 10's are possible the way the car sits now. By next year I should have enough power at the wheels to make the chase for 10's though.......
