I am in the process of assembling my engine after a rebuild. The EGR studs are toast and so is the stock EGR spacer. So, I can either find a junkyard spacer and get the Trick Flow stud kit or go another route.

What are other SD cars running as far as an intake and TB? I am thinking about an FMS 65mm TB or Edelbrock 65mm and putting it on Performer 5.0 intake. Will that upset the driveability on my SD car?

Does the TMOSS lower ported intake flow as good as the Performer?

Yes i did actually.

Above 2500RPM the car pulled much harder and felt like it had more grunt.

I have a full exhaust too (headers, off-road pipe and cat-back) so the engine must have loved the additional air.

Now i just gotta ditch the E7's.

Ok so a larger throttlebody and the right intake kit for no power loss will work. I want an intake that doesn't fall off like stock set up, and no lower lower RPM power loss.

I got a 96 Explorer intake manifold with the 19# injectors and 65 MM throttle body for $250. The Explorer flows about the same as the GT40 manifold. It works great, a local junkyard sourced it for me.

The stock Explorer linkage didn't come anywhere near fitting, so I made an adapter plate for the throttle linkage so I could use the 65 MM throttle body.

Also see Tmoss's adaptation technique at http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/ConvertingExplorer65mmTB.pdf for modifications to adapt the 65 MM Explorer TB to a Mustang

Another method is to remove the old bracket from your old TB by grinding off the end that is mushroomed over. Do the same thing to the Explorer TB and then drill and tap the shaft for a 10-32 machine screw. Put the bracket from your original TB on the Explorer, and install the screw with a big washer. You might want to put some Loctite on the screw threads before tightening the screw down.

Thanks. Looks like I will go with the Performer 5.0 intake. Just have to decide on the right TB size for my setup. I found a good deal on the intake and they suggest going with an Accufab versus an Edelbrock TB.

there are a couple of aftermarket cams you can run with SD aren't there? i seem to recall seeing a couple of the fellas here with some type of crower cam...slightly warmer profiles, but not so bad that it confuses the computer...
