Im thinkin about a h/c/i for my stang over the winter but I just wanna make the right decision. It's gonna b a daily driver in the spring/summer/fall and parked for winter ofcourse. I've been looking at different set ups and I wanna make the most hp without spending 2 much money. I was thinkin about buying a cobra intake/e cam and sum alum cylinder heads But I dont think I will make as much hp as the kits above that I named. Any input or experiences would be highly appreciated.

Kit..

TFS street for me. Dont think its any big difference between Holley and TFS.
I decided the TFS kit because its seems to bee more compleate, and a bit lower priced. My kit runs fine, and I have only positive things to say about TFS. Just Me.
Good Luck with it.
Ps, think there are some threads regarding this around here. Try search.

thanks for the reply, I've been searching and reading lotsa other threads and im still very unsure about everything, I wanna make over 300+ rwhp thats a given I can spend upto 3 thousand US $ So I go with either kit, 30 lb injectors, 76 maf, 70mm tb and a 255lph fuel pump and a few other things but I've seen 410hp crate engines on ebay for 3k US all I would need to buy is a nice intake and injectors maf tb etc. Someone help me out plz really confused on wut I should do.

I have nothing but positive things to say about TrickFlow as well. I purchased all the parts that go along with the Street kit separately and saved myelf a few hundred bucks. You most likely aren't going to make over 300rwhp with the kit though, without one HELL of a tune. Most guys ive seen with the street kit are around the 290 range. If you want 300+, you might be better off buying some AFR heads and talking to the guys there about your combo, though this will cost you more.

As far as going Street vs the Track kit, id go street. For a daily driver, it's just a hell of a lot more fin having the torque come on in the lower RPM's. Also, TFS advertises more torque on the street kit than the track one, i believe.

I haven't hearn much about the Systemax, but what I have...wasn't great. I remember when i was in your position, several people complained about fitement issues. But this was all hearsay.

Hope this helps alittle.

.. First of all, Its so easy to only see the Horspowernumbers. I tried to figure out what kind of horsepower they measured at Ford, like their 410hp create engine, but gave up. Is it only "clean" flywheel numbers, without a serp. belt etc, or is it a calculated number much like the 225 hp GT Horsepower.
If someone sells you a 400hp engine, you mostly end up with 330+/- rwhp.
TFS, Holley and others, does not tell you how they Dyno hp...
If someone you trust can help you out , a self designed setup could bee stronger, but PW clerance, driveability and so on is also important.

I really like my TFS kit. I also considered the Holley kit but the TFS one is more complete with the roller rockers. Only thing I do suggest getting is some new roller lifters while you are at it. The TFS kit does not include those.

TFS tech's say that u can run the TW or Track Heat head with the TFS stage 2 cam but u may have do degree the cam to get it to clear P/V.

Holley systemax ll is a great intake but there heads suck.

If u can afford it, go AFR 165 head, FTI custom cam and RPM ll port matched intake. easy 300-320rwhp, NA on 9:1CR.

If u can't they go with the TFS H/C/I kit.

strker why would you suggest the AFR over the TFS? I know the AFR's flow close to the TFS, but the TFS out flow them. And the TFS have the larger intake valves, and can be ported to 185cc when needed. I figured the TFS will work awesome now, and can be ported later to work w/ a 347 short block and blower I am planning in a couple years. I spoke to AFR today, and the tech told me the AFR 165's will work great now, but when I do the Short block and blower I should sell them and buy the 185's because it was not worth porting and working the 165's. They are already ported out of the box. Granted the AFR's are awesome heads, but the TFS heads out flow now, and can work in the future.

I was curious as to if anyone is running the TFS Track heats w/ the stage 2 cam and NOT flycutting?? Or is there another cam that works better with the heads and intakes??

THANX

The TFS kit whoops the Holley kit because as stated before the TW heads flow much better then the Holleys.

There seems to be a lot of Holley head bashing in this thread, do any of you have data or is it all internet hype? I can shed some educated info on them but will wait for the reply's.... there have been many revisions to the kit over the past 5 years, including 3 different style heads, cast/made for Holley by 2 different suppliers.

The TFS kit is awesome for the money, you can not build another kit that would be as complete for that price. As far as power numbers I recently built a low compression 331 8.5:1 (for future boost) with the TFS kit, Stage II cam and it made 340RWHP in NA form (that's about 400FWHP )

To fit the Stage II cam it is sometimes required to degree it to fit, depends on the deck height of the stock block (they vary a lot from factory), and head gasket thickness.
