The 2007 Official College Football Thread

Stop it LSUs road schedule is not hard at all. Saying a lower SEC team will pose a challenge is like saying Illinois will pose much of a threat to Michigan. In all conferences the low teams all stink, SEC included. There is no question that the SEC has better teams in the top of the conference but dont tell me that Ole Miss, Miss State, or Vandy are worth a hoot. Kentucky is supposedly better this year but hasnt been much, well ever.
We will see...Tenn and Cal play tonight.

I am certainly not trying to knock LSU because they are an awesome team, but people constantly bash USC and say they are a weak team. Well I argue that their record over the past several years including home, away, conference, non-conference, bowl games, etc is a pretty good indicator that they are a great program and imo over the last 5-6 years by far the best consistantly.
And I'm not saying USC isn't a bad team either...just not the team ESPN tries to make them out to be.

Maybe you should try and go play a good team at their stadium like USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Michigan do. Of course it all comes down to money but you dont think that a home and away series against say Michigan wouldnt get some $$ your way, your TV revenue would be huge.

You said Michigan....

We played Virginia Tech in Blacksburg a few years ago and there are talks with Oklahoma to schedule home and away with them. The problem is the AD can't seem to get teams to want to play here. We had an open in 2009 to schedule USC in one of their opens and they balked.

After watching VT struggle against East Carolina I say we hang 31 on them. It's going to be ugly thats for sure. So much for the challenge. :D

We are going to have to rely on our defense or figure out something to do on offense for LSU. I dunno, we usually play to the caliber of the team, we have always been like that, but ECU has put some doubt in my mind, but I think at least it will be an entertaining show.

First I am not a USC fan, I am actually a Purdue and Big 10 fan. But I doubt you would spank the **** out of USC, but good luck next week with LSU when you get your booty pounded by 30.

Seems Michigan got beat at home to a no name. I guess they are a joke now. Much like USC (which will lose somewhere on the road and miss their championship bid).

I wouldn't exactly say that as a certain. In College football, unlike most NFL games, it is not always the predicted winner that will win. I definitely have some reserve, but like I said before, we usually play up to the caliber (or down in this case) of the team we are playing. I think today we definitely underestimated our competition mentally and caused us to struggle in the first half.

I am still looking forward to a good game on Saturday night.

Well we don't discriminate. We kick all their asses good and bad. :D

Michigan got trounced by an unranked nobody College. Their chances of going to a bowl game are gone, they probably wont even be ranked after this
Actually there are not a nobody college. They have won the Div 2A championship 2 years in a row. In 05 LSU played them and they hung tough through the 1st half only down 14-0 before we pulled away 24-0. They are well coached and have some quality players. No excuse for Michigan to lose in the Big House though. Can you sat "over-rated"?

Whatever you say, all I sence is jealousy. Va Tech couldnt hold USC or the top 2-3 SEC teams jock. I mean obvioulsy you are biased since its your team, but come on just because you are a fan doesnt mean you have to be blinded by bias.

I never said Michigan was a good team I just said they schedule some good teams in the non-conference both home and away. No more, no less. I will readily admit the Big 10 is extermely weak this year. UM obviously is not what they where touted to be and OSU lost tons of people. Penn State, UW, and OSU are all descent teams that have a shot at willing the big 10 championship this year. But none would have a shot at the SEC title.

so, how bout fsu? they got rocked, again, haha....

now, as much as i love to see tenessee, fsu, etc lose.... it definitely doesnt help our strength of schedule, which sucks!

but seeing meatchicken and notre lame lose made my day!

:fuss: ....that was the worst first half of football they have ever had. They finally have a stacked coaching staff but NO TALENT! If Bowden doesn't do better, he will be pushed out the door:(
