My Mustang was put on a truck and taken away today.

I have many fond memories of it and you guys. I will miss it, but it is time to move on to new projects.

Peace to all af you, and I will check back every so often.

Headed there soon myself, although probably next spring before I find someone interested in buying the 95. But, it was a lot of fun.

Enjoy that Fairlane!

No need to leave the site over the sale of the car. You're still in a Ford, just much older than the Mustang was.

I know how you feel, though not on here as long as you. Its been a little over a year since I got rid of my '95, but I still lurk around here. The S197 forum doesnt do much for me. I have been on other sites as far as that goes. I will never not be on Stangnet though. Good luck with the Fairlane and your future!

^^This.

S197 pages on here are not too bad. Really not liking the Shelby forums I've joined. Seems like most Shelby owners, particularly 13 owners, act like corvette guys. Everyone's an idiot except them, all other cars suck,... oh, and few of them work on their own stuff. Saw a guy wanting to know how hard it was to install an oil catch can. Others taking cars in to get billet hood hinges installed? Seriously? Maybe you should pay someone to drive it for you too! Most definitely aren't Mustang guys first and foremost, who just happen to be blessed to own a Shelby.

I think a lot of the S197 guys on here just need some mentoring. They didn't grow up with wrenches in their hands like we did(or at least some of us elder statesmen on here).

thanks guys. it's alittle weird coming home from work and not seeing the stang in the driveway. but i drive the fairlane alot more now.

money has been really tight with the kids in college and the a/c dieing and the wife's master cylinder going out (she has a VW cabrio). eventually maybe i'll have enough money to replace the top. until then, i have to put a tarp over it when i'm out and it looks like rain.

i'll check in from time to time.

That sounds like me and my guns. I hardly ever shot my AK until after I sold my AR. Now I am completely happy with having the AK as my only assault rifle, especially after modifying it to my liking. Keep us updated with progress on the Fairlane, especially if you get a new top installed. P.S. Tell your kids to get an evening job and help with the college expenses!

Congrats on the sale, I keep going back and forth myself on keeping or selling. Most of the "old timers" are long gone or rarely post. Enjoy the fairlane.

Bunch of old farts in here, eh? Don't be a stranger, Chris. This place seems to never forget the old faces from back in the day! Enjoy that fairlane as much as you can though, it's an amazing machine!

I totally agree Aaron. I miss this place when it was in what I consider to have been its prime. I wonder how some of the guys from back then are doing (they're probably driving brand new GT500's ).

Best of luck Chris.

The 5.0 scene (old 5.0, that is) in it's prime was pretty awesome. I miss my '95 GT sometimes too. Sold it back in 2008- just got bored with it.

I still have the 95. Sadly it sits much like it did a few years ago when my project just .... slowed down. It's at 90% completion but I just haven't moved on it.

In the meantime, I got posted to Alberta, bought a little house out here, put most of my head into work and family life. Still with the lady friend of years ago as well. No kids yet. (Amen)

I've always promised that I wouldn't let go of the 95, though, and I'll try as hard as possible to hold onto it as long as I can. Here's to hoping that someday I'll get it back to the fine form it was when I took it off the road. For now, it sits quietly in my garage that I built specifically for it, waiting.

We need an "old farts" thread.

That sounds pretty cool to me. You still have the car and you still pop in here and visit.

Your '95 is too cool to not keep around. If you ever sold it, your ad would need to note the included purpose-built and custom garage, and do you know how hard it is to sell a car that comes with its own garage?

An old timer's thread would be fun. I missed most of the threads where people said where they were going or why they were leaving.

Oh man, I remember sitting in class in high school computer room reading and sharing posts with you guys. I have owned 3 94s but this the longest. Hardly drive it though. Sits in the garage as a decoration kind of when people come over. Everyone's like, "you still have the stang" yep and pop the door open to show. Then I get the "why don't you drive it." I'm like mehhh I don't know... Too many other things going on with the new house and getting married and all.... Damn I'm getting old too.... Fml, lol

My '94 sits a lot especially since I got the Harley last year.. I am doing the Power Tour with it again this year, but probably won't do much else. My grandson pushed me pretty hard... He wanted to go again. He's 16....
Used to be with a local group (Stangbangerz) that liked to do things, shows, rally's, cruise-in's, but not so much any more.

Not to dig up old threads, just doing a search on the 410 I bought from Chris to see if I can see what parts exactly he had in this monster so I can get a good tune. I came across this one and dang... I feel bad lol. I feel like I took the stang right out of you by buying this engine from you. Hope you still stop in every now and then. I'm almost done with my 95 if you want to see how it's coming along. It's all in my build thread (that I really need to update now). Well take care, hope to hear from you soon.
