Yep got me some new LCA and UCA's and new springs. The only thing i couldn't spring for were socks/struts. I'll be doing that next summer. The front struts when i had them off were still in great shape and still worked.. the rears however, they are bad. I can push them up and they stay there!

Awesome progress for the short time you worked on it...

I think shocks/struts would be a good purchase. I lowered mine on stockers and the ride is horrible. My car desperately needs them and your at the stage to grab some. More money, but IMO worth it.

Yea i really wanted to do shocks/struts but I still need more things before she'll have an engine between the shock towers. Also since the key is broke, i can't open the hatch even if i wanted to do the rear shocks right now.

hatch's are nice for that ...

Yeah your car might be fine with the shocks/struts, not to mention Jersey has better roads than CT. Up in MA and NH, forget about it, horrible roads...

Hey bro, what color socks are you getting????

Just kidding...I would keep the front struts if they are good. My 91 notch has the stock struts and they work pretty well. But it has stock ride height so maybe that's why too.

Justin...you are doing it right, just take your time, get the necessities to get it together. Then in the spring get the struts and shocks....only bad thing is you'll have to get two alignments....but better than wearing out your new 18's!!!!

Yes definately get an alignment. If the car wont be lowered a lot the stockers should work, my cars too low and the stockers are sacked out and ride awful.

I'm going straight to the alignment shop as soon as she's running. I paid WAY too much money for tires for them to be all torn up after 3000 miles!

I'm a little worried as to where to bring the car for alignment though.

I'm like that too. Luckly there is a hot rod shop around the corner with a good alignment rack, family owned and operated since before I was born!!! Same group of guys around there forever. They build and work on hotrods that people have their life savings into, so I don't worry when it's there.

If you are forced to go to Belle or Discount etc....ask them if you can stay there while they do it.

It's funny my dad has made friends with a local guy. The guys shop is just your average small shop, does walk ins. We take our cars there and they take extra care with them. You would be driving through a so so area in downtown and see your average Chevy, Buick and Chrysler and then one of our Mustangs there. Noone would trust the place just looking at it as they don't deal with high end or special cars, but they know when we bring our stuff there to treat it as their own. Not a scuff or scratch on any of my wheels!

I'll have to do some searching. I have a friend who owns a mechanic shop maybe he has an idea of where i can get the car aligned.

PS. anyone have any info on what i need to do to the E-brake handle? 25th, i remove that coil spring right? then i weld some piece?

Yes remove the spring, then with the brake hooked up you ratchet the handle up a few teeth. Then weld the handle to the gear. Its really just a small weld to hold the handle and the gear together. I will send my friend over here to better explain it.

Looks kick ass!

I'm gonna pull my rear end out before winter sets in and do the same thing. Been debating going from 3.73's down to a 3.55 or 3.27

I got a set of 3.73's but i haven't installed them yet. This car is going to be somewhat of a cruiser for me, so i'll make that decision later down the line. I don't have the means of installing gears anyways so i wanted to get the rear in the car

Looks awesome, glad to see progress!!! Also a 3.55 or even 3.27 for a street cruiser would be great. If your looking to run hard at the track, Id recommend more gear, but for something street only, and just a car to enjoy I think your right for sticking with that gear. This coming from someone who might go 4.10 next time .

COUPE!! Nice man! Nice! Those wheels look sick under there. Car is gonna be nice with the new springs, UCA AND LCA, etc. I can't wait to see the motor in!

Might as well do the shocks while your under there. That thing is gonna ride nice. I still haven't put the stock Monroes I bought last year on either notch. They are rotting on the shelf in my basement! I've done a lot of stuff on other peoples cars this summer.

1991coupe,

not sure if it matters anymore, but if you get 1994-1994 rear sof line brackets, they bolt to the axle and it make s amuch cleaner install.

In 1996, Ford moved the brake lines to the body, so that's why they have such long lines like that.

But if you get 94-95 lines, they bolt to the axle like this

Thanks for the picture. Unfortunatly i had 99+ calipers and hardlines, so i got creative with my setup and my father and I just bent new custom brake lines. I didn't want to have to spend more money, i had the hardlines and fittings lying around so i made them work. Thanks for the pic, i recommend that it be done this way NOT the way i did it

Had i known, i would have tracked down SN95 softlines. Its alright it should work just fine!
