The official 2007 NHL thread...

The Wings will have a hard time tonight like they did the past two games

Damn Penguins :fuss:

i am calling it that the flames will win tonight. remember Edmonton was down 2-0 last year to Anaheim and came back to win the series (i think it was Anaheim). not saying the flames are gonna take the series i just think they will come out strong and take tonight at home

damn i shoulda made a bet lol

too hard to say, my heart says the flames will take it, but i know the wings are taking this as a must win game, being up 2 games then loosing 2 games can be deflating and turn around the series. i think the flames are gonna be tough to beat at home though. definetly gonna be a good game

as for my Sens, i am hoping that they take the pens tonight, you know the pens are gonna come out flying, but so far this series Ottawa has outplayed them (out shot in nearly every period) even worse for Pittsburgh the game is in Ottawa

GO SENS!!

flames decided they like a best of 3 series better i guess.

playing saturday and sunday is gonna be interesting

what really sucks is i took the thrashers over the rangers for some reason in my hockey pool. i don't get a chance to watch either team so it was a shot in the dark kinda. i also took Minnesota over the ducks cause i thought that may be the upset of the first round with the wild having a good year in terms of goaltending, doesn't look good though lol

Anyone catch the aftermath of the Flames / Wings debacle that took place today? It was horrilbe what the Flames did late in the 3rd period. Tomorrows game is on at 8:30 (my time)

Thank goodness that Nashville isn't in the playoffs though.

i caught most of the game at my uncles place but missed the last ten mins of the 3rd period. from what i seen it was both teams being physical through the whole game, that may just work to the flames advantage though, seeing as most euro player seem to "shut down" once the game gets rough, not all but most. should be a good game though! expect some fights aswell

Try to find clips online, cuz the Flames were f'n insane. McClellum(? backup goalie) replaces Kipper, and 17 seconds later he's ejected from the game. He hacked a Red Wing twice while he was in front of the net, which was one thing, but then as the play progressed the goalie got tripped up and apparently thought the Red Wing did it to him. There was a quick whistle and the puck was behind the net, the goalie slapped it up the boards from behind the net, comes to the front, and two-hands the Red Wing right in the chest near the collarbone and knocks him down for quite a while. And Iginla later hacked, butt-ended, and cross-checked one of the Wings all in a row and got booted as well.

Way to go

retalition for running the goalie and whacking at his glove earlier in the game...... what goes around......

they lost the series anyway, but damn what a low scoring game. boring ass game to watch

jsut an FYI the only reason i don't like the red wings is because i don't like euro players, this is directly related to Canada vs. everyone else in international hockey

Are you seriously saying that two-handed swing to the guy's chest was warranted? I can understand team loyalty to certain extents, but that's ridiculous. Goalie's gloves catch a stick nearly every other play, there's no need to knock somebody out because of it. The hacks when Franzen was in front of the net, those were fine. That's hockey. I'm just saying the baseball swing was way out of line. If you wanna fight, FIGHT. With your logic, that's like saying the face-smash by the other guy a few months ago was warranted because he probably got cross-checked or boarded or something normal, and so he can nearly decapitate someone because he was mad. That's not hockey, man.

Ah well, the Flames were extinguished anyway, and who better to get the series-clincher than....the guy who was stick-whopped by the goalie! THAT is how you retaliate, not like a f'n GOON wielding a hockey stick.

I don't understand what you're saying about Euro players. They're everywhere

Anyway...Yea, way boring game. I stayed up on the phone w/my girl to watch the first OT and I went to bed.

I watched the whole thing... I was worried a couple of times throughout the game. Especially when the flames forward almost put the game away in the 1st OT!

Even my wife said the game was boreing and went to bed after the first period...
