thermostat housing leak

put a new thermostat new seal & a few days later started to leak , dont want to tighten it down anymore as that plastic looks like it could snap , any tricks or ideas , thanks ................... Mike

If the runner is plastic we can guess the year range. Could be the infamous cracked intake... maybe...?

Don't over torque the bolts!! 15-22 ft-lbs. If you over torque, the o-ring distorts and it will leak. The o-ring needs to be clean and dry when you start putting it all back together and also the mounting suface on the housing and intake manifold. Do Not Overtighten!!!
