well i did a search and didnt come up with much so i decided to just ask. well ive been told by many of people that my car's computer isnt working right because of all the mods done to it. it cant compensate enough for the o2's being moved so far away and blah blah blah. my car runs rich at idle and lean at WOT sometimes. i was wondering if possibly the tweecer could help me let my computer know that i dont like it and it needs to stop :shrug: :p .

im just justifying buying a tweecer over my styling bar that i want oh so badly. hopefully you guys/girls can convince me that the tweecer will be better. thanx
 
haha...yeah, ive never tuned her before. dont have a chip or anything else in her to screw around with the mods i have. so you think i can get some hidden performance outta my car that has been trying to run a regular stock configuration compared to all that i have now??
 
Well my lt's have not given me too many probs. Some do have more probs with them than others. Guess I was lucky in that area.

If you lurk around the Tuner sites you will see that not all cars respond the same to simular or even the same mods even when the year and pcm are the same.

The knowledge that is learned and applied is kinda like 90% the same between simular combos and family of pcm's and you Tweec or fine tune the remaining 10% for your car for best drivability & power.

The great thing about having a tuning device is that even after you get the few big changes that make the biggest difference handled, other things can be changed that even though they are small, your car just runs better & better cause you can dial in your tune for your particular combo, that is, if you want to take the time to perfect it so to speak.

I'm using the original SN95 pcm T4M0 (hardware) & COBRA J4J1 calibration file (software) that I've downloaded into the original pcm which basically means that

A COBRA computer gives me near stock drivability & the power shown in the sig.

Just a few thoughts based on my findings with my 95GT & Tweecer.

At the very least it will help you get the perfect idle and run cooler an you'd find the datalogging super helpful when even just trying to diagnose an engine problem.

But on top of that you would probably benefit from entering the pro-M MAF curve, adjusting timing per load/rpm, and modifying your fuel tables to compensate for the added airflow.

As far as finding hidden power goes, there's always something to be had with a tuner, even on the stock motor. After your mods, you should definitely see an improvement from a tune. Who knows how much, but it's there. As it is now, you are probably leaner than would be optimal for power production anyway.
 
I am using an AFM PMS, and let me tell you what, it was such a night and day difference. I still have a little more tweaking to do because the car runs kind of rich at idle. I don't know if its because I'm running an x-pipe and dumps.But It's all about getting the perfect tune, and finding that medium. But a managemnt unit is the way to go especially because the 94-95 computers don't like mods. It's well worth the money you spend for the unit.

if i can't drive my car, it doesn't matter how good it looks. the performance and the reliability issues are more important to me than the styling.
 
damn you guys almost have me sold too. I just landed a nice deal trading web design for dyno time. 5 full sessions of the initial design and then more if wanted for updates down the road. (It's a mustang dyno, but is better than nothing, right?) I've never dynoed anything before, but with this deal I've been thinking now is the time to look at a TwEECer or similar programable setup.

yup...im so torn on having her look hotter or put some better brains in her. same situation with all my girls :rolleyes: :D . tough decision but im startin to think about the tweecer more and more as i drive the crap outta her. im so scared that my problems wont be cured by this but ill be making some good money this summer so sooner or later ill be able to get that bar :)
 
Well you won't find them much cheaper used. I think they normally go for about 400 to 450 shipped used. That's why I had no problem spending the money on it, I figured worse case secenario, I can sell it pretty easily for ~400 if I decided I needed the money back.
 
www.tweecer.com ....basically lets you control so many aspects of your computer thats its nuts. im sure someone can give a better explaination but it lets you change everything from a shift point in an auto to fuel mixtures if you have a wideband to use
 
yeah baby...just bout the r/t last night (was a lil drunk so that made it easier to spend that much money :) ). now i got a week or so to start reading up and getting my head ready for all this friggin info thats gonna get tossed at me when i get it. this is the single most expensive part ive ever bought for my car :) :)

Just lurk around on the Tweecer sites.

You'll find more info than you can read & comprehend in a week or so but you won't have any probs making changes with the simple things like spark retard, idle, and stuff like that.

I understand about spending the money, but after you see what you can do with your tune and how much better your car runs you will see that for the long run it is a good investment.
