New Jersey
We are thinking of getting out of Jersey and heading to Texas. I'm sick of the snow, cold, traffic and cost of living. We could sell our house here, buy a nicer home and still have enough money to buy a new Stang :D Which I could drive all year long.

What' s life in Texas like ? Do you have some good car clubs ? How are the roads ? Is there a drag strip near Austin ?

Any feedback would be welcomed :nice:

Come to San Antonio. Not cold, but it does get kinda hot. Not too much traffic. Not far form the gulf coast sandy beaches either. great city to live in. good nightlife, lower cost of living, not alot of taxes. The $250,000+ home you would get in jersey will cost you less than 100 here. Oh as far as clubs go check out LSS .

austin

austin is nice, moved here in may from northern cali and dont plan on leavin. traffic is ok, compared to no. cali but im sure jersey is 10x worse. they are working on a loop around the city, toll road :notnice: but that will get peeps on that and off surface streets. you will enjoy cedar park, i live in hutto. both are nice areas due to the distance from downtown.

Interesting... I just moved back to Arizona from Cedar Park Texas. We tried living in Texas and just did not like it. Its very hot in the summer and humid! The traffic is insane and its a huge expanse, There is Austin then Round Rock and Pfluggerville and Cedar Park and Georgetown basically all connected on I-35. Although there is plenty to do there, it is just too big in my opinion. We missed the small town! Lots of friendly people though.

The only drag strip that I know of is in Temple, about 45 min. north of Austin. I'm sure there is more. Temple track is closed during the winter months. You pay $10 per person, cost maybe more depending on special events. That $10 also includes making as many runs down the strip as you can.

Well i know you didn't ask about Houston but i just moved here from Michigan back on Oct. 3rd. my woman lived here so i had a reason to move. The traffic sucks, the cops are *******s(most of them), the weather is awesome most of the time, but i have not been here for a summer yet. There are alot of Mustang clubs here in Houston and in Texas. I myself kinda miss the snow. Good luck in what ever it is you end up doing wish ya'll the best.
