Well since this came outta the deadly. Does the saleen wings cover the holes in the decklid from an 04 gt wing?

If you order right year wing for your car, then Yes it does cover the hole

As suggested ... I had a FORD dealership paint and install mine. $250 long ago.
I have heard related issues with other kit parts.

this kind of scares me... I am getting an S281 wing for my '96... You guys all seem to have issues with the 99 and up model. Is the story pretty much the same with my model?

I just installed mine a few months ago and it did come in pretty bad shape. Nothing a decent shop can't smooth out though. Its worth the hassle in the end.

thats just it. It might just be best looking wing for our car(or body kits for that matter). In the end after spending too much money, and time, it'll look killer!

Yep, that's the only reason my dumbass is considering this wing for my car. I keep hearing the horror stories but that doesn't stop me because it just looks so sexy!

Your best bet is to look for one in E-bay that was already on the car. SOmeone did all the work already. Just paint it over,
Or go with S351. Ask 01gt eibach. But from what he said, S351 is like night and day difference.
I think S351 look little better too

I think the s281 looks better than the s351.

My parents are getting it prepped and painted for my birthday, so no complaints here

i have a bit of experience doing body work and painting Saleen parts and let me tell you... they all suck. the key is using lots of flex primer. i have the heat extractor hood on my gt and that thing was a nightmare to get right because it flexes so much over 80 mph that it was gettin stress cracks and crows feet.

but ive also seen professional shops paint side skirts, bumper and wings from saleen and months later theyre all cracked and peeling.

just try to get the prep work PERFECT and u may be ok
