those w/ the T-45 and 4.10 gears COME IN!!!!!

something isnt adding up. on my personal vehicle ('00 GT w/ T-45 tranny and 4.10 rear gears) im turning exactly 3k rpms at 80 mph. 4th gear tops out at 102 mph. is this the same as everyone else's T-45 w/ 4.10s? reason i ask is b/c ive seen many gear/speed calculators which all say i should be turning ~2889 rpms at 80 mph and topping out 4th at 111mph. WTF?!?! only thing i can think of is maybe i didnt look at the gears they sent me and put in 4.30s instead? help me out guys!!!!!

111 at 6000 rpm sounds about right. I've never actually watched the speedo @ 6000 rpm in 4th gear, but my trap speed in the 1/4 is about 103 and the tach is at about 5600. Could be your tire size. What size tires do you have on the back and what size rims are they on?

damn. that wasnt what i was hoping for. when i had my stock tires on, i was turning the same rpms. now im on 275/35/18 tires, which shouldnt make any difference since theyre the same height as the 275/40/17s i was on before, and silimiar to my stock 245/45/17 tires.

Derek, one way to know for sure, since your speedo and tach can (and most likely are) off.

Jack up the rear, put it in neutral, mark the top of the wheel and d/s. Spin the wheel one full turn, and count how many times the d/s turns. 4.1 times is of course 4.10's, get it? Hey I'm sending you a PM, haven't talked to you in FOREVER!! (except at the SAD in san anton)

Shoot, I've always been pretty impressed with your times. Especially your launches. I can't launch a stang worth crap. crapola It pisses me off that my best 60' was a 2.1 (although I haven't been back since my suspension and heads and cam).

I have a funny story about trying to launch that thing. Remind someday I'll tell ya.
