Also, 347s put much more stress on on cylinder walls than 331's and stock type setups so dont plan on revving that thing too high. I hear you can crack a block that way. But like you said its for a street setup, if you keep it below 6500 rpms (which most of us do) you should be fine with that. And yea get a cast crank cuz the block will break before the crank does but invest in good rods and pistons. For a street setup I-beams would be ok but if you really want get h-beams (stronger but more weight). As mentioned call CHP or you can give DSS a call too. There closer to you so it may be cheaper shipping wise to buy from them.

I was gonna do a similar set up but decided against it because I didnt wanna spend the money. If he was using an aftermarket block and wanted to make real power, i'd suggest the afr 205's, victor 5.0 like i suggested and a jay allen or fti cam. Over 450 to the wire and WILL make power past 7000 if you wanted. For his car, i'd do the fti stroker 185's, victor or tfs r and a custom cam. Put both of that on a 331 or 347 with similar cam and the 347 DOMINATES!!Im thinking about selling my 347 stroker motor that makes 375hp and 410 torque. I have a dyno sheet if you want to take a look at it. It comes with everything forge and a main gridle for the extra support. All you need is some heads, intake and your old accessories and your good to go. Im wanting 2,500 obo. Let me know if you're interested.17yrOldStanger said:i actually need to use this car for everything i do. i dont want a 10 sec machine. i just want a 347 with enough guts to stay beside the 03 cobra stock. maybe a little more like 375 to the wheels. i cant see myself using all that gas to run my errands.
