Throttle body question

I'm looking to upgrade my throttle body for my future turbo install. I've been told that I should go with a 70mm. My question is if I need to keep the EGR (no one will be under my hood but me). If it will positively effect my performance to remove this piece, how do I go about it? Final question... Is a 70mm a good choice for a car running a turbo on a stock bottom motor. I will limit the output to around 400hp for now, but intend to upgrade the motor to a 347 with Trick fows engine package.
