Throttle cable getting stuck !

Throttle cable on my 92 gt is getting stuck at around 3k rpm ! it doesnt seem to pull throttle body blade all the way back ! car revs and idles fine once i disconect the throttle cable from the t-body ! what can this be , can the cable be lubricated or something? thanks

I'd recommend buying a whole new cable, but my car was doing the same thing. I beat the piss out of the car and ran it full throttle and it freed up whatever gunk was in the cable. Keep in mind though that this is pretty dangerous since your car can stick in WOT.

haha yea that could definately be a problem...on my car i was having the same problem for a while until i realized that the bracket holding the throttle cable in place wasent secured properly, the bolts had come loose and the bracket flopped over, that bracket is essential so make sure that it is secured right.

it happened after i had drove the car home with a new downs ford upper intake and bbk 75mm t-body !
