k so i want to figure out how to do the timing i kinda already know what to do but im not shure
the sharp thing pointing over that balancer is where i should put my mark right?
I have a white line where 0 is. if the mark is to the left is that retartding the timeing. and if the mark is to the right of the arrow is that advancing the timing. I am trying to get 8 degrees base timing. thanks

yes , your looking at the ponter...put the white chalk marks on the numbers that run from 0-20

not 10-0

going to the right (as you read it facing the front of the car) is advancing

why do you want 8??? 10 is stock and 12 is usually a great place to start.

unless you want easier starting or lower emissions, then lower it

make sure you remove the SPOUT b4 you change the distributor location.

start the car, remove the SPOUT , change the timing, lock down the dist, replace the SPOUT, done

Sorry Tim. I normally post a link to your site, but I buried it in my bookmarked stuff and could not find it quickly.

Your write-up is my fav one though, esp when I can find it.
