Timing The Engine.

I'm planning on ordering some comp cams in a few weeks and having the intake and heads ported so my question is how do I go about timing everything? The whole overhead cam thing has me stumped. Detailed info would be great.

Put paint marks on the chain and gears before you take them off. That is the easiest way and is almost fool proof. Just make sure you clean off the section you are marking so that it sticks.
