tint removal

due to the new mississippi laws all windows can only be 35%. i had 20% on the roll downs and 5% on the back. they are really cracking down on this new law so i had to get it all removed. i took my car to a local place and now i have several of the defrost lines not working. they said that happens sometimes from the glue on the tint. is this b.s. or were they just careless in what they were doing?

that suxs. i took mine off myself and had no problems. hot day, cover everything, some water and ammonia and after a lil it peeled right off. there was a lil bit of glue left, bit it came off pretty ez with some windex.

Yep, hey jacked your lines with the razor blade. They need to pay to fix it. If not, get a lawyer to make them buy you a new rear window. Hopefully this place is reputable, which would make it easy to get your stuff fixed.

i used a blade on my back window and every thing still works, and i was careless, so if ures are not working they must have done a number on them, i would try to get something outta this

I've tinted a few windows in my lifetime on some of my cars and my friends, I've taken it off of 6 different cars. The first car I took it off of was a beretta with rear defrosters, I did it with a razorblade and learned from my mistake.. I hardly touched the defroster, no mark even, and it never worked again.

Just use soapy water.... Or just be a man and work at it..

I'd get them to buy you a new one... Or something.

If they say the glue caused it, then why didnt they stop working before? And that said, they would have to claim that the removal of the tint didnt cause it and that if u left it on...they would have stopped working. Doesnt make sense to me. Either way, it revolves around what they did. If they dont budge, im not sure how they do things where u live, but we have a Better Business Bureau that can get involved and actually is great to sort things out.

Yes, they F'd it up! ..glue won't do that to them, only damage to the circut of the line. They need to take responsibility. Don't go in there prissy about it either. That's there fault, if they didn't want to pay for it they shouldn't have been morons.
Im not a jerk, it's just stupid that they'd try to lie to you like that. Thats bad business

yeah i thought that it seemed like b.s. but i wasn't sure. i don't know what method they used to remove the tint. as soon as they got the car in the shop they pulled their garage doors down. i can't see any damage to the lines? i'm going up there in person to talk to the owner and maybe they'll do something about it.

Razor blades will DEFINITELY damage the lines. I used to tint professionally, and I hated it when someone wanted theirs removed, darkened, lightened or whatever if they had a rear defroster. It was a pain, and we had to do it all without a blade...

I have never encountered any car (and we did tons) that tint or glue would damage anything on glass or defroster lines. They did something screwy, it's that simple.

I would definitely go back and at least talk to them. They may be cool about it, and replace your glass.

i talked to the guy and he said they didn't use blades. that the tint was on real tight. and possibly the tint had messed up the filaments when they removed the tint. he said there was nothing they could do and it happens some times.
