Tire question.

After a few failed tries of getting my 275-40-17s to fit on my 17x10.5 bullitt wheels I know i have to get something wider for the rear. Question is, do the 315-35-17s fit on the rims and mount to the car without spacers or any modification? Also, would the 257-40-17s be ok up front on the 17x9s?


What tires are most used for the 17*9/17*10.5 setup? What tires would be available in a 295 maybe? And where would i find the 315s or 295s ect...

A 295 to 315 will fit the rear no prob. THe 275's will work perfectly on a 9" rim up front PROVIDING these are all Mustang fitment specific rims.(being bullit's I'd assume they are)

a 275 will fit you just have to know what you are doing, but yes a 315 will fit with no problem

What would a 295 tire size be? 295-35 or 295-40 and what brands? What brands would you sugest for either 295 or 315. Tire rack has CHEAP sumis. Also where is a good place for center caps, mustang tuning sent me different ones with the front and rear.

I have 274/40's up front and I don't like them. I would suggest goign with the 245 or 255 tires. I don't like the 275's because they like to railroad, meaning they follow EVERYTHING in the road and pull like crazy. I didn't like that feeling. It might be the type of tire (BFG KDW) but I think 275's are too wide for me in the front. The rears will stay though.

i had the same issues when i had 275's in the front...i switched to 255's and it doesn't ride the ruts as much.

Best fit would be 275 Front and 315's in the back.I'm ordering deep dish bullits too and i'm going with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's in the back
dont know what i will go with for the front , but that wont matter too much

www.tires.com and do a search for brand.. search BFgoodrich, select the ultra high performance, KDW/KDW2 and then select alternate sizes. it will be there.

265/35/17 are a good size up front.They don't want to follow every groove in the road.You should have no problem with a 315 on the rear with the 10.5" rim.Alot of us run a 295 on a 10".

As far as the centercaps.... check with OEWheels on eBay. They might not have an auction for them, but I know they carry high quality centercaps -- maybe try calling them. They sent me both the Ponys and the Cobras and they both were identical to stock. I know that they were selling a set of 4 cobra caps for 19 bucks.
Anyhow, make sure you measure for your centercaps first because different replicas take different size caps.

285-40-17s are the biggest i see for any regular tire in bfg (the kdw). THe only thing i see for 315s in bfg are the kdw drag radials, but maybe thats what im seeing on peoples signatures.
