I think we all get the point, some people don't need them, but assuming nobody does and suggesting to ditch them instead of experimenting with and without them is kinda arrogant.

I haven't read through the thread again, but I really don't see anywhere where someone flat out said to just ditch them. But, I have done my fair share of experimenting with them. Keeping them on, flipping them, replacing them, different tires, different wheels, different suspension parts of different part combinations and several different power levels. Although if you are referring to me, then nope, never told anyone to flat out ditch them.

I have lip scrapeage!!! Guess I get to learn how to roll fenders!!! Is there a tool or technique you all reccomend?

There is a tool, but it's awfully expensive for one car. Eastwood makes it.

Slit the metal a few times to prevent paint cracking (learned that the hard way), then use a baseball bat to bend the fender upwards.

what you mean slit the metal? like tin snips? make it weaker? if that is what u mean then what about rust?

Is there a good body shop around, most should be able to do it for you, not an insurance fix it though, a real shop... around here there are a few who can/will roll fenders....

You can probably find a few how to's, but from my experience, if you don't put small relief cuts on the inside where you are going to bend it, you are going to crack the paint.
Some say use a heat gun, not sure if that really works.
You can clear the inside to prevent rust.

The last set I did with a friend years ago we used a little air jigsaw with a fine blade, put small slits in it and worked out the best. As for rust, I have no idea, haven't seen that car in a long time.

For the record, we did my car with the eastwood tool, cracked the paint on top of taking 20 times longer than just using a bat.

Yea I tried a rubber mallet and heat gun like I saw on a how to vid. Cracked some paint. Got it out of the way on the driver side enogh to where it isn't hittin. But I called the shop and il going on in about 30 minutes to get a quote. They do it there.

Remember, these rears can move pretty far under cornering, so what may not rub on a quick spin, may with someone in the back seat and or hard cornering.
So if you are going through the trouble, IMO, roll them all the way.

I'm gonna get them rolled. They quoted me 200 and I'm going to see my brother buddy shop tomorrow and see what he wil do it for. Suppose to get a better deal. We shall see. @89oem what do u mean?

Should be under $100.00. I paid my local body shop to roll the ones on my G8. Had a forum friend do the mustang for $40.00

oh, Im doing a major coyote swap/build on my 89 Ive owned since new, the shop had pulled the quads and put them in the cast off pile, this conversation made me think so I grabbed them and the mounting brackets that bolt to the frame.. so theyre in my storage bldg.

Well as for pricing. I'm in Humboldt county. And if you are not from here you will never understand how it works. There is a ton of money in thsi little county and our economy stays thriving. So no matter if you have said money or not, and most people do, you are going to be overcharged up here for everything!!! I'm going to call my buddies shop and a couple others though
