Tire Size

Hi.

Im new here. I have an '89 with stock wheels and tires. I want to keep the stock 14" wheels cuz i actually kinda like them but i was wondering how wide of a tire i can fit on them. Stock tires are 195/75-14 and i was hoping to get 245/60-14. Will they fit right?

My car btw is a white hatch, 2.3l n/a, rusted, magnaflow exhaust...thats it so far. Bodywork being done in the next month. I'll post some photos after cuz right now its sad to look at.

In the mid-80's Ford was offering an upgrade tire for the 14" wheel that was a 205-70R14. 225's would probably fit but be pushing it. Honestly, pick up a cheap set of 10 hole 15" wheels with the 225-60R15's on them. The 16" ponies will take a 225-55R16 tire (along with the 16" turbocoupe snowflake wheels).

5.0's with ten holes came with 225/60R15's.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Here is a pic of my window sticker just to show that my 2.3 did come with the 205/65's. Had never known the 5.0's came with bigger tire size.

I used the tire calculation and that would put the 5.0's .069" higher than the 2.3. Cool info.

Considering the tires alone would be over $400 id have to disagree with $650 being too much. I cant afford new tires AND wheels so these seem like a pretty good deal.

Takeoff's include the tires...they are wheels/tires taken off brand new Mustangs when dealerships upgrade them to aftermarket wheels before selling, or for the customer right after they are sold.

So takeoffs would be brand new wheels taken off brand new mustangs? So your suggesting i go out and buy 5 lug wheels to go on my 4 lug mustang? And the 5 lug conversion would cost me??? If the total cost is more then $650 i dont see how this is better.
