Not to bring this back from the dead, but I was ebaying and found a set of BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS that are 285/40/17 for $26 (or whatever the highest bid ends up at) plus 45 for shipping.

Looks like a couple of you are running a 285 on a 10.5" wide wheel... any drawbacks to this aside from the lip being more exposed?

Here is a link to the tires.

I just plain don't like how it looks.

I will not be buying 285's for my wheels again.

I would agree with sgarlic. I have the sumitomos all the way around and they pick up every little groove and uneven surface on the road. There are times it is ridiculous. The only reason I got them cause they were so cheap especially for a 315 tire. Go with somethere else if you can afford it

Guess I've been lucky with mine...they have almost 20k miles on them and still have another 10k at least, are just fine in the rain, and I'm able to pull 2.0 60" times with them at the track with a blower

Well, Sumitumos aside for the second, the 285 will fit a 10.5" wide wheel correct?

I want to get these now just so I can put the wheels on, and then go with a 315 after these tires are shot.

If no one but me bids I can get both them for about 80 bucks.

BFGoodrich KDW II's. You get what you pay for with the Sumi's.
