I ve seen similar ideas, as mentioned in the article, but these seem to be the first practical ones as far as be geared toward production.

Not that conventional tires aren't already expensive, but I'll bet these will cost a raving fortune.

One drawback I just thought of with these... How many people adjust their tire pressures for different conditions, track days, autocross, etc.?? It would appear there is no way to adjust the "tension" on these, so that could make for a "less than enjoyable" ride for many of us.

As stated above, though, these things get posted every few months... I doubt they'll ever actually make production, except for some exotic vehicle.

That's a good point, and leads me to believe that it actually wouldn't be used on exotics, which are often raced, but on high-end luxury cars.

Probably not too much different from any other tire that comes apart at high speed...

My guess that they will have the sidewalls covered to look like conventional tires....If they did that I wonder if they could make them hold air so the pressure could be adjustable....

It seems like a complicated solution to a simple problem. Why not just offer "conventional" tweels with sealed sidewalls?

(Yes, I know tweels are far from conventional.)
