Too wide of tires

I have a 98 cobra, its been lowered and i have a 315/35R17 back tire. The tires rubs on the quad shock. Would it affect or hurt anything if i removed the quad shocks?

You can remove it if you have aftermarket rear control arms, or you can simply take them off and reverse them so the piston is next to your tire rather than the body. That will give you about an inch of extra clearance which is all that was needed on my wife's car.

I would flip them. Some Mustangs develop wheel hop even with LCA and UCA's installed.
