Hey. After hacking up that Xenon Front like crazy, I decided to take it off for awhile. The underneath was cruddy and faded, So I "touched it up" for now
Havent decided whether to take the bumper to a shop to repaint it, then reinstall it, or just leave it off for now, and maybe have s shop respray the stock bumper alone.

That piece is HUGE and heavy...

Oh and Paul, Im gonna go drive now for awhile...Ill let you know for sure if that thing caused the ECT to go up!
Thanks
RC

i think it looks better on maybe if you took the whole kit off it would look better? but i think that with thte wheel you are getting it would be better with the kit

No doubt the front looks nice, but recently it has been getting all hacked up. The shop did a rotten job prepping it, so it flaked. Im gonna see if the car stays cooler now on the hwy..If so, then I will definitely leave it off..

Also gotta see how it looks with the rims.
In the next 2 years (when the paint starts getting bad) I want to get Oink's Hood. Maybe someone could photoshop it on for me

Im heading out now...Maybe some others can chime it with their opinions.

Thanks
RC

i think your car would look sick with those rebel wheels and no body kit. that kit was on my car when i got it, the first thing i did was rip it off.

Stock look rule ! And Saleen kit but everybody has it so I prefer stock.

The front weight 21-23pds if I remember correctly, right ?

Remove the rest of the kit though..It will look better once you see those tailpipes

To tell you the truth, at 1st, I hated the way your car looked, but it seems to have grown on me, I say have it painted and slap it back on.

molding a bumper to your car is what causes cracking. i considered molding my front lip but my overly honest body guy told me it would crack at the seams with time.

There are a lot of replies so I cant respond to all, but a couple things:

Yeah, it "feels" like it weighs around 20-25 lbs.

I CANNOT remove all the kit now, b/c it is the old paint under it.. I would like everyone to tell me what they think of the car as in the pic, or put the bumper back on, like 984.6 said.

Joe, I know your being a wise guy, but does your reply mean "put it back on"?

Molding it on wont do ANYTHING to prevent chipping..it has to do with the way the bumper is prepped. If it is prepped right and it gets banged, it should just scuff, not flake off. Molding it on will prevent me from taking it off If I want to.

As far as cooling goes, it may have run about 3-4 degrees cooler in the 1PM sun today, but that's about it.

I guess right now the concensus is to put it back on after it gets painted.

Thanks
RC

I personally dont like the looks of the Xenon body kit, but without the front bumper on there, it just looks off. I say either put the Xenon bumper back on, or go back to the GT body kit

You pretty much have to put it back on. Just doesn't look right with one of the peices missing.

Thanks for the honest opinions. I thought you would mostly say that, but I was hoping not, b/c now I gotta pay for the repainting...when it's time to repaint the next time, The WHOLE kit is coming off, in exchange for a hood like Oink's

Joe, You know a shop down this way that can paint stuff like that? Hate to say it, but it's probably gonna have to be a ricer-type shop...On thing they DO do good is paint.

BTW..Ill trade you straight up the 42's for the 36's?

Thanks all RC.
