Have you ever thought of maybe a different bumper? I think the Saleen would look good with the rest of your body peices, I just don't think the factory front clip with those other panels look right. Cobra might look good too. But if I had the choise to leave it off or paint it and re-install, I would most likely put it back on, it sets your car apart from others and with those new rims it will look very nice.

this doesn't have anything to do with "getting slammed" over on corral, does it?

Honestly, I have never been a fan of that kit. But, it's either all or none if you ask me. What about a cobra cover?

All or nothing RC... you have to decide. I want the ABC exclusive one piece front xenon knock off bumper, wings west side skirts, and an new rear bumper but I haven't decided as to what I'll get yet. I f-ed up my side skirts sunday going to a car show and a big chunk of paint came off and I have spider web cracks all over it now... it looks like ass. The side skirts and the tacked on nature of the kit is what I hate about it. But, I will never go back to sporting the stock look either. I have to have something different... that's just me.

Paul..I trust your opinion a lot.

When you say
All or nothing
, do you mean because it looks odd with part on part off?

Also, I dont want to spend another dime on body kit parts, other than getting this painted... It seemed like it may have been 2-3 cooler on the hwy with the bumper off, but nothing major...The only thing at this point to get me cooler is to free up some more room under there for circulation with some kind of raised hood.

As far as you
But, I will never go back to sporting the stock look either. I have to have something different.

I think if you too removed the kit and put on different hood to your liking, you will already have "something different" between how your car already looks, and the rims. You dont need that kit to make your car..
In addition, with as detailed as you are with your times and weights, Im surprised you even have that.

Thanks for your input!

I only will say put it back on because it makes the car look unbalanced with the other 3 pieces on. I think the stock front end is MUCH cleaner than the Xenon piece on it. Exterior styling is definitely something that varies wildly though, what looks good to one person looks like ass to another.

I know "styling" is individualized, but if 90% of replies on here are saying it looks "unbalanced" or "weird" with just ONE piece missing, I will get it painted and put it back.

Snoozer: The only thing about Cobra bumpers is I dont want people thinking that Im trying to 'wanna be' a Cobra..Not that it looks bad. I think Paul's option of a ONE piece separated Xenon Bumer is fine, but like I said...NO MORE $$ for body kit parts!!..adds weight and is a PITA

I got one "general" quote without the shop actually looking at it. They say for E9, and the work done right, it's gonna be mid to high $300's

Not sure if Im ready to spend that right now..For a little more, I can have the hood.

what i mean is.....

stock > xenon

oh and when you are blown you can have whatever kit you want.

when you have aluminum heads cam intake and the bottle you can have a cobra front fascia

as long as you dont write saleen or cobra on your car.

Is that how it works Snoozer?

IT's gonna run me about $350
to fix, so It may be awhile.
If I take the rest off, I gotta paint
the whole car

In person, it honestly doesnt look
that bad...and like you said, if youre blown,
(and the engine is bling) I can have it
whatever way I want...But I DO
agree with you guys!
Thanks

Paul,
I just thought of something today.

Your paint job is just a "2-stage", right?

I remember the guy giving me the quote saying that it would be slightly more to paint that stuff for me b/c it's an E-9, Laser, which is a 3-stage process.

Could this have something to do with the price difference, or is it just regional area difference?
Thanks
RC

Man, I think you should leave it on. Or some type of kit. Whith those new wheels, the extra bulk of a kit makes it look that much meaner. A kit will definately set the wheels off more IMO.
