How repeatable is the idle setting supposed to be? Key on engine off I set it at 0.990V w/ engine on it was 1.007V. I then re-adjusted w/ engine running to 0.970 to make sure it stays under 1 at idle. You can really hear a difference when adjusting past 1V at idle.

Is this ok or it my sensor garbage? I sprayed some oil on the idle return spring. Can I get a heavier one?

Thanks.

the alternator charging will actually make it go up slightly especially if you have a 130 amp alternator upgrade .....so set it to .95-.97 with the engine running and you will be fine ........

Actually, my understanding is that one reason for a VREF of 5 volts is to remove the voltage fluctuations that the charging system introduces.

You dont post a year of stang, but there's a good chance that it zeroes out upon start up anyhow.

Just MHO.

Good luck.

In my opinion most people don't really care about what the tps is with the engine off.
I have always set mine with the motor running.

One of the EEC tuners that I respect alot (Clint Garrity of EECAnalyzer) sets his tps to .95v. I see no difference when setting min that low.

I think the only thing it would affect would be when the tps trips open loop.
This would be a minor impact.

Trust me there is some small fluctuations ...put a voltmeter on it and check it and then get someone to fire up the car while you hold the voltmeter in place .......car off at .95 and then once fired up it will usually bounce between .97-.99
