So I'm headed out to a test and tune day on Friday. NHRA Track. Hope tech lets me in. Then i ave to try to get my car dialed in. Thing is it runs rich. At WOT im in the 10 to one range. I have never switched out jets in a carb and i have no idea how to do so. It is a stock 750 dp Holley. Mechanical secondaries. I hope i can get my car deep into the 12 N/A but we will see. Last time i was at a 1/4 mile track my car was bogging and missing. Turns out my stator and magnetic pick up in the dizzy were rusted. So this time should be better. I don't think i have the safety equipment to go faster then 11.5 so i will only have one nitrous try to do it. I don't want to make the track officials 2 mad. Today is a big day though i need to get all my tools inorder get my car hauler's wiring working with my truck. So much work so little time.

Sorry to hijack but on a stock motor and tans what would you guys launch at? rpm wise
launch at whatever rpm you get the least amount of tire spine at. Some guys say side stepping the clutch (dumping it) hurts car. They are probably right. Some say to come off the clutch slowly like how you shift on the street. You will get a little clutch slipage but you will not over power your tires. Also try launching in 500 rpm incriments. try 2000 then 2500 and so on. you will find your best rpm to launch at. Dont forget if you are hooking hard and you get a bog you can also try more air pressure in the tires.

With my set up. I went a 11.33@116 hitting the chip a little after the 1000ft mark. I don't meet any safety requirements. I have stock 4 cylinder suspension. I think the tech guys just forgot to say something because I made 7 passes all fatser than 11.49. Let us know how fast you went.
hitting the chip? what do you mean. I wish i was going that quick without juice.

I just picked up some Drag Radials.......I think i am going to just let off the clutch like normal and stab the throttle. I dont want to break anything. Will i get any spin off a DR?

Dont be afraid. Knowing that you can have a dead hook you wont be able to slip the clutch. Heat them up nicely, drop the clutch at 4k, like I said, dont be afraid.

looks like I'm not going I can't get the trailer brakes to work on the car hauler. took the trailer and car for a spin with the truck and it doesn't stop the best. Had some brake fade issues going down a longish hill. Not going to chance it. Will have to wiat till next season.

awww man that sucks, i wanted to see what it would do.

And hey flava, with the power your making you should be fine. I have more then 20 passes on my slicks all stock suspension, no torque box reinforcements, and stock axles. Give it atleast a good 5 runs and then you can lay off till you get some reinforcements.

That sucks 86bluecobra, better safe than sorry. I can't believe I said that, I feel Old.
lol well my wife was telling me it didn't sound like a good idea if we went because of the brake issues. Everytime i don't listen to her something goes wrong. I'll have it all fixed up for next year. Speaking of which anyone have a wire diagram for a factory installed trailer plug. lights electric brakes etc. I need to know the wires on the truck not the trailer. Basically i want to know where the factory feed to electric brakes on the trailer gets its signal. Its a 92 F-150 4x4 with a 302 in it. Extended cab Flair Side.
