What traction differences between the two? Are they the exact same but the ET Streets just have the grooves in them, or is there a different tread compound or carcass construction?

The carcus construction is slightly stiffer on the streets but the compound is identical. You will get more wrinkle with the slicks but the streets will serve your combo well (nice to be able to drive with them to the track!).

Thanks for the info. The ET Drags are a little cheaper, I might as well go with them. I've heard that ET Streets may be street legal, but arn't that streetable. A buddy and I have decided to get some tires, and his girl will drive my beater to the track for us with the rims and tires in it. I probally will get some Nitto's for my Cobra R's for street duty.

My brother had the Streets on his Camaro that ran 11's and they hooked fine, but another buddy put Streets on his 13 second Stang and he was all over the place. My buddy with the Stang said they hooked awesome on the street though. My brother also loved the Streets on the street, b/c he could lift his front tires about a foot off the ground. Also my brother when he has them on he couldn't go over 15mph if eh got caught in the rain b/c they were so squirly!

I looked at the M/T web site like I should have in the first place. They are different. The ET Streets have M5 compound and the ET Drags have L7 and on thier chart the L7 is much softer.

I think I will get the ET Drags because I don't plan on taking them on the street, if I do and get caught, the cops around here don't really care, as long as your not doing something else wrong. Anyways, it's a $50 ticket, oh well.

if you run ET Drags, you get put into the comp rod class, thats how it is around here at least
