Tranny opinion

I have a 2001 GT, when I shift into 4th it is popping out of gear. It has a T-45 in it now. I am looking at buying a used trans either a T-45 or a TR-3650. I saw that the T-45 only stands up to low 300's in torque and the TR-3650 holds up to more.

Which tranny should I go with?

Personally i'd get the 3550 and a new bell housing and driveshaft and your be good to go

I would get that one, but I can get a 3650 for $300-$500 instead of $1200-$1500.

Do you have an aftermarket shifter? If you do check your stops on the shifter. They come loose and that will cause them to pop out of gear .

Where can you get a used t3650 from? Anybody know? I'm curious too. Thinking of having mine rebuilt 2-3 shift is trash and 1-2 feels like garbage.

Ebay. I do have an aftermarket shifter, but i am not sure it that is the problem, because if i hold it in gear it stays and does not pop out, but if i just shift and let off the shifter it pops out.

save the money, get the t56 out of the cobra. It would be worth the hassle.
