A good friend of mine is considering installing a manual tranny into his '92 mustang mainly for street use, occasional drag race. He is currently running a 347 stroker putting out about 400hp with a Performance Automatic C4 and 373 gears. The car was originally an auto also. He is mainly looking at the T-5, Tremec TKO's, and Tremec six speeds. In the future he may add a power adder of some type, so it'd be nice if the tranny was strong enough for that too. What are everyones opinions on which tranny would be the best choice for the money? Also what all is involved in this swap other than adding the obvious pedals, etc.? Any other suggestions are also very welcome. What are the best places to buy these tranny's from? And finally, what should he expect to be able to sell his PA C4 for?

without a doubt the TKO is going to hold the power, a beefed t-5 will work with just his n/a 347, but if he goes power adder, that TKO will save him money from the broken t-5's he will be getting, i mean some people can pull it off by beefin the t5, but IMO its not worth the time and money for keepin the t-5
