Well, in only about a half hour this morning, I was able to get the old BBK cable on. It worked fine with the Fiore and I didn't even need to pry the fork to get the threaded end connected.
The Fiore with the BBK quad must take up a lot of length. When I had just the BBK cable on there...it was adjusted all the way tight at the fork, and the cable was still loose and not disengaging the clutch fully.
When I put the old cable back on with the Fiore all the way to the firewall...if I tightened the nut at the fork only halfway down the threaded end, the cable was too tight. It would grab right at the top of the pedal travel. I actually had to loosen the nut at the fork so it was only about 1/4 of the way on threads, with he Fiore still adjusted all the way loose, and it grabs where it should now.
I ordered the FRPP double hook quad, but I'll probably just leave the old cable in there for now since it's working fine. It's also routed correctly now and it wasn't before.
One quick question for you guys though. When I was cleaning up the old cable, I took off the severly corroded bracket piece that's on the cable and screws to the engine bay wall...right near the battery. I realized after I had everything back together I had not put that piece back on...is it a big deal to leave it off? It seems to be working fine...
