Replacing oil 3K to 5K miles will keep your stang in great shape for many many years. Replacing spark plugs every 15K to 25K miles (not sure where to lean) helps a lot too.

Anytime I hear the mention of a tune-up, I always bring up the topic of brake fluid. I get the brake fluid drained and re-filled with new fluid every 12 months. No brake problems at all. Not sure how many miles to go by, as its just one of several fluids that get changed/flushed every 12 months: coolant (Spring), brake fluid (Winter), steering fluid (Fall), and tranny fluid (Summer).

Keeping fluids in check and keeping the engine bay relatively clean (wash it 2-3 times a year with degreaser, rinse, and a little armour all) and you'd be surprised how reliable a stang (or any car) can be.

Sounds like a lot of money being spent, but I've found that I get way more than the "average life" out of various parts and accessories. No smoke, leaks, and such.

Again, one vote for changing the brake fluid.

well it seems like 10w30 is more like. now aside from the oil, what fuse do i have to look for for driver side power seat ? i heard its behind the battery in a box. what number fuse do i have to look for ?

They are not numbered. If your cig lighters also dont work, that's a sign of the fuse being bad.

i just put 5 30 mobil in my car

the drain bolts friggin suck imo..the brace with the vert

i was going to put 10 30 in but i went with 5 instead

royal purple was silly $ in pep boys ,..like $7 or something
how many major oil companies are there?
how many companies get oil from here or there and put there own name on it

^^^^AWESOME ! so the fuse for the power seats is from the cig illum. but no fuse for the VSS or speedo/odometer unit ?

the idle at the moment sounds a little lopey like it has a cam. sounds like something from the fuel struggling. also having misfires. im confident that once i do the full tune up, its going to be running and sounding nice.

Not one fuse for just the speedo or VSS that I'm aware of. Here's the interior fusebox in case there are other items also not working and you want to find commonalities:

thanks. while im tuning up the car4, i might as well check the fuses. after tuning up, im anxiously wanting to the mods of the bat ASAP. but im not sure what i should do first. i was thinkng about slapping an h-pipe on. something like bbk. the car has flowmaster catbacks. but then i heard that suspension is better to do first.

UPDATE !!!


well since i had "tune up issues" since last weekend. didnt have time to finish due to school/work. i put in autolite 25 plugs gapped at .054, new wires, new cap and rotor. i rearranged everything in the correct firing order. timing is at 10. it starts but it sounds like its misfiring and running on 7 cylinders instead of 8. i heard that it might be the fuel filter holding back fuel. also a vaccum leak but i checked all the lines.

need some input and help.

Run a cylinder balance test.

i did before and it show 150 psi. i highly doubt its a blown cylinder. it was running fine before i did the tune up. plus i could drive around the street cause it wasnt registered and just sitting.

A cylinder balance test is not a compression test. It is a test you can run as part of the self-diagnostics. It will tell you if you have a cylinder that is not contributing as much as the other cylinders. All you have to do is spend about 5 minutes and press the throttle.
It's a really neat and easy way of finding a miss, even if it's something more slight than the human ear might pick-up.

Check your repair manual for the procedure.

This is why you should change your brake fluid.... This is what I got when bleeding the fronts after the Cobra swap.
