Any kind of adhesive will be an extreme pain to remove and not damage the paint.
The best way is to first get a heat gun, or a blow dryer.
The trick is to remove the sticker and take the adhesive with it. It's not easy, and it will take several attempts. Start by heating the very end, then peal the sticker off a tiny bit. If the adhesive stays on the sticker, continue to heat the sticker as you remove it.
So, start at the drivers side of the car. Start at the front. with your right hand, heat the sticker, and with you left, peal the sticker off. You want to heat the sticker as your pull it off.
Be careful. You can actually melt the sticker if you apply too much heat. So either vary your distance from the sticker, or move the gun up and down.
If the adhesive stays on the car, put the sticker back on, heat it some more, then pull the sticker off some. Repeat until the adhesive comes off of the paint and stays on the sticker.
Also, you will need gloves, and the heat produced will burn your fingers.
I have taken hundreds of stickers, pieces of scotch tape, etc etc off of RV's & cars. Be patient. Just be happy it's not scotch tape; that is a royal PITA after a couple years in the sun.
