so i was removing my manifold, and upon taking it out, the egr tube snapped right at the base where it connects to the header. is it possible to jb weld it back into place? theretically the JB is there to stop leaks, it should stay in place fine, and have very little pressure on the crack, since its bolted to the intake.

deadlast, I'm not sure that JB weld will do the trick there, i don't think it will be able to handle the high heat. Just take it to a metal shop and they'll weld it back together for not too much.

As for the other question, just weld a bung onto the header if you need the EGR, or else just cap it off. I'm sure that somebody around here can tell you where to get a cap.

I don't really know how to help, but .......

If you want to just cap it off like parchisi said, you can remove the threaded ring from the tube, put a penny in it, and thread it onto the header bung. Do your EGR research before doing this, though.

i had to do the penny trick

Take it to a machine shop and have them make you a new one. It's a cheap easy solution. I had a freind make me a new one in trade for repairing his computer. Worked good for me.
