This is normal...it's only because you don't have any cats to catch the unburn fuel now. Personally, I love the smell. Also...it's not bad at all; just normal.
well i got my mac o/r hpipe installed and holy $h*t. Man it sounds mean now. Don't really smell the fuel in the car, so it's all good. Overall a good decision I think.
Unless you have leaks or turndowns/dumps beneath the car, the smell of gas/exhaust should not reach you if you've got the windows up at a stop or driving along. Sorry to hear that about your wife though. In her case cats would definitely be the way to go.
It's not that bad. It's only real bad when you are standing behind the car and someone revs it up a little (i.e. if you're doing recordings of the sound like I did.. damn near needed a gas mask.)
You can smell it when you drive around a while, then stop and get out.. it's a good smell though.
I don't mind the smell, my wife thinks it stinks, but so does her nail polish remover. atleast it is outside, and not flooding the house with fumes. side exit exhaust, might be different, in traffic though.
