Hey yall, I'm new to Forums, and if I'm being honest, cars. Especially anything ford, I grew up in a family of mostly chevy owners. My Mustang is a 1994 sn95 with the 5.0 HO 302. My neighbor, a very good friend of mine, was gonna scrap this beautiful forest green Mustang GT. I picked her up for 400 dollars, knowing she was gonna be a project. Right now, I need to fix/replace the transmission. Was wondering if anyone could help me out? I have a 1 and a half year old son and I'd love to give him this car someday.

Do I need a new transmission? Also I should mention it is the 4r70w automatic. I have a 1 and a half year old son and I'd love to give him this car someday.

Aod-e.. 4R70W’s came later. What is wrong with the current transmission? What have you tried so far? Don’t forget to add some pics.

Shoot, I'm sorry. Basically, I can get it into gear, but if I go over 40, it throws it into reverse. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to just buy a brand new one. Thank you.

No need to be sorry, hopefully I didn’t come across to harshly, wasn’t my intention lol.
Few more questions-
Did your neighbor have the shift linkage off?
Does the shifter work normally?
can you manually shift the car through all the forward gears?
Does your speedometer work?
Car start in park?
Car start in neutral?
If you have time later,do a little reading up on the Manual lever position sensor (MLPS) if it it acts up,a lot of bad stuff can happen
