update on 2003 mach 1 i am looking at

My comment about it fading was to the decals. They arent plastic, but vinyl. My bad on that. Didn't know the shaker was aluminum though, thats cool.

As for black cars being hard to keep clean... Yes, that is definatly true. But I invite anyone who hates keeping a black car clean to come and trade with my GT for a week. White shows ANYTHING no matter how small it is. Plus birds seriously seek out white cars and annihilate them with droppings. Its happened to me more than once...

You think they like white....try yellow..:mad:I guess to them its a bullseye.

True on the vinyl, guess I misread it.

I ll give a look at the Pig Spit,I need a bigger garage..its only a 1 car garage but you add a work bench, several tool chest,Marshall Half stact amplifier and tons of other music equiptment...I might be able to get 3 feet of the car in.Another year on the lease then Im getting a bigger garage.

I had a 2000 F-150 that was white. I washed that truck twice in the 4 years I owned it. I got comments all the time on how clean it looked, and I basically never did a thing.

So an update again. I looked at a 2004 mach Grey, and the first thing I saw was the driver door had a chip in the paint and under the grey paint was red paint so right away I knoewthe door was replaced. Plus when driving it the rear diff had the most terrible wine noise. It was really loud. Trans was smooth engine ran great sounded great with some glass packs but the car was a trade in and it looks like it was in a accident bad enough to put a new door on. The car was scratched and gouged terribly.

that sucks. have you looked into getting a GT instead? they are a little more plentifull and you should be able to find one cheaper then a mach. plus it will cost you less to operate it since gts run on 87 and your insurance will be less.

that sucks. the paint is probably messed up because some retard was using a dishtowl and granulated laundry detergant to wash the poor thing. 8 out of 10 times thats the cause. some people just dont know how to take care of there paint.

I really want a Mach That is one of the cars on my list and how cheap they are now I can finally get one I am only 17 years old and I can't believe my self that I can finally aford one because I got a job now. I really love the shaker scoop. That is just cool. When I was at a car show and saw my first mach 1 (1970) before it had a shaker scoop and I loved that style since.

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt ford use red primer on some colors,my black gt had red primer under it...I know,it was hit by a drunk.

And yeah the Mach runs on premium, but my insurance only went up $10 a month from the GT..So now I pay something like 90-100 bucks a month now, thats not bad.Now my TA I had when i was 20-21 was something like $270 a month....ouch,car payment was only $275....:rlaugh:

Too the other poster,I had a 2000 silverado the was dark grey and I had it about 2 years and washed it 2x's,and eveyone would always ask me how often I washed it to always make it look clean....:rlaugh:

If you really want a Mach, then I say hold out for one.But since your 17 just remember they cost more than a GT in upkeep.Premium Gas only,Insurance is gonna be high I think, plus some things that are cheap for the GT are alot more for the Mach...ex: pcv is $30...that 1 still has me irritated...

Also if your mainly just wanting the look of the Mach,it isnt too expensive to make a GT look like one. Before I got rid of my GT I wanted to do an appearance change. You can buy the entire Mach kit from Late Model Resto for $1100.It includes:Fully functunal Shaker and all parts, honeycomb panel, chin spoiler, and all the stripes(side and Hood). The one they sell is made by CDC and really is good quality.I live near Late model and I went there and there was a GT there with that same kit, loooked almost stock.Other than those parts the only diffence in looks on the outside are the c-pillars and of course the interior(seats and gauges).

But the Mach does ride alot smoother than my gt did,and a good noticable diff in power...:D

It is not just the look I like but these cars are special and a peice of history and I would like to get one and keep it most to all my life knowing these cars are special and I would like to preserve one once I get it.
