I finally got around to installing my Cobra gauge cluster, polished headlight knob, and the new FRPP leather-wrapped steering wheel. What a difference a wheel can make, especially when the factory one was the plastic cheapo GTS version. You can also see the twin A-pillar autometer gauges. It's finally starting to shape up! :spot:

questions......
Do GTS's have the "cupholder mod" or did you put it there?
Is that the Bullitt shifter bezel?
How hard was the steering wheel install and does it retain the airbag?

Everything looks really good together. The only thing that subtracts from the look is the dash carpet.

That looks awsome. Where'd you get the gauges from and does the mph work correctly.

And what the reason for the dash pad. I asked earlier in the threak about the right hand drive mustangs. Only response i got was someone said it was ugly.LOL

Great looking interior man! Really clean! I actually like the dash pad. It looks pretty good and I would rather look at that than the cheap looking platicky dash that collects tons of dust. But that's just MHO.

Another thing that bothers me is the yellow needles on the gauges. Is there anyway to paint them red? My dad's 96 GT has those needles and they annoy the hell outta me.

"cupholder mod" - I replaced the factory console with one out of a 2000 Mustang.

Yes, that is a Bullitt shifter bezel along with the Bullitt pedal covers. I'm thinking I need to get a polished aluminum bezel to match the other pieces.

The steering wheel was pretty straight forward. You'll need a large Tork bit to remove the shaft bolt. I got a wheel puller at Pep Boys. The factory airbag is a direct fit.

As far as the carpet goes, it came with the 97 Cobra I had. I hung on to it because here in Arizona it gets smoking hot and I want to protect the factory dash. I may look like crap but it just sits on the dash without any velcro or adhesive.

The gauges are AutoMeter Phantom electric water temp and oil pressure. The gauge piller is from FRPP.

Thanks for the compliments.

Oh yea, the instrument cluster came out of a 95 Cobra. I found it on the Corral classified. As far as I know it is dead on. I wish the needles were more orange, I have heard you can paint them but I have yet to try it.

Nice man, I am not too crazy about the mat, but the Green cluster frame is nice. I assume it matches your paint well? I really like that shifter knob! And that boot! That isn't stock is it??? Also, is that billet door locks??? They look good, even if they aren't.

Your interior looks great! :nice: I would also like to know if that bezel matches our color? If so, where did you get the paint from? (my tails need painted, and I'm not sure if I want black or the original color) Watch out for that metal stuff in the summertime (or the next 6-7 months :nonono: )! Nothing like a good burn to wake you up after school, or work here in the late afternoon!

I got the Cobra cluster for $150. $350 is too much, unless you cannot fine one elsewhere.

The wheel came from CJPonyparts.com. It is from FRPP and runs $150. I'm pretty sure it only comes in black.

I have yet to swap out the shifter boot so I think it's stock.

I painted the instrument bezel and door inserts myself with some spray paint I got at Checker's. It's a chrysler color but it matches really good.

The door locks are Ford Bullitt ones, but they are plastic. I will eventually swap them out for aluminum ones.

Another thing that bothers me is the yellow needles on the gauges. Is there anyway to paint them red? My dad's 96 GT has those needles and they annoy the hell outta me

I dunno about the GT ones but at least on my cobra the orange needles light up with the rest of the gauges, so if you were to paint them they prolly wouldn't light up. Hoofinit...Looks Great! I really like that new wheel, can't wait to get one for mine, it does look a lot better.
