UPR product failures after 500 miles

Did you call them up and tell them about i your problem? My buddy went through three of those things and each time it failed they sent a new one out no questions asked. Mine also squeals and needs replaced but I'm not too worried about it. My other buddy had a bump steer kit that failed and they replaced them for free no questions asked. I never really had any bad experiences with them.

i've usually emailed them for everything. i work from 4 am to 5 pm lately and dont think to call. i guess i can call and ask them.

if they replace it 3x, wouldnt you be pissed? you know it's just going to keep happening.. what do you do when it eats your belt and it snaps like mine did? or it only throws it off and your stranded? it's a junk product clearly with even worse customer service.

If it's squealing and wobbling, not only is it a junk product, but it's eating up power, too.

Squeaky wheels get the grease, and I've seen at least 3 UPR employees in the past couple years sign up to basically be damage control reps.

Makes sense, I guess.

yep... i read all there was to read online. bought the smaller 93 cobra wp pulley, which is a W-HORE to find anywhere. then the larger ps pulley off a v6 mustang to help lift the belt further. installed them, after 20 miles the belt stretched and touched itself on top of the WP. not to mention, the large ps pulley also made it like manual steering.

no other options are out there that i was ever able to find. gonna start searching tonight for a new delete kit.

Maybe use the Trickflow A/C delete kit, it moves the tensioner were the A/C pump is to keep the belt from touching itself.

Messed up for sure! I have never seen anything fall apart like that, ever. I haven't personally seen anything bad from UPR yet, but it looks like the day is coming. I don't have any UPR stuff on my mustang.

UPR is a company that does nothing but copy other peoples designs and sell a lower quality product at a lower price. UPR actually stands for Uther People's Research.

Here's an interesting bit of reading regarding UPR. I actually bought this guy's last piece and vowed at that time that I would never, EVER buy a product from these lowlifes.

Does MM sell idler pulleys?

You know UPR has a phone number right? Ive called them on a saturday when i was intatlling my k-member and supprisingly they answered.

Also, it was said in this thread that UPR k-members "come apart at the seams." Has anyone ever taken a picture of this? Where are all these suspension parts that just fall apart?

I made the seams comment, and it has been seen in person, by yours truly. When cars are at my buddies shop, i never take any pictures of anyone elses property.
But, i guess in defense of upr, i've seen alot of really crappy k members, in fact almost all of the cheap ones suck, they bend, crack, or just plain old don't fit right.

Im not saying my UPR is the best thing in the world but overall im happy with the k-member, i see alot of threads slinging mud at thier suspension parts but nobody actually shows damage, there was one thread i read where an a-arm had a small imperfection in it, with pictures and that case UPR replaced the part and when they had it sonic tested the part was shown that it wouldnt have failed

I'm not a fan of UPR and I don't run any of their parts on my car. I see and hear about alot of quailty issues regarding their parts and how they love to make reproductions of other's designs.

They finally replaced it after the buyer posted on the Corral about it and provided copies of multiple emails that detailed their horrible customer service and accusations of incompetence of the purchaser. It all could have been avoided if they had simply sent the guy a new lower control arm with a "thanks for using our products". But instead, they counterattacked him for several pages on a public forum before finally doing what they should have done in the first place.
