Here's a clip of my GT w/ upr x, no cats, and welded in flowmaster 2 chamber flows. The manifolds are stock. Video is shot from idle to about 4500 rpms. Was going to go w/ either magnapacks or slp loudmouth, but after hearing the car for the first time in a few months(just pulled car out to let it run for 5 min.), I'm not quite so sure I want to make the switch.

What ya's think??

Whatever you do, don't run loudmouths/magnapacks without cats. It is dusgustingly horribly loud and raspy and quite possibly the worst sound I've ever heard. How do I know? I did, and within 10 minutes I was back under the car taking the X-pipe off until I could get some mufflers.

It's def. loud w/ the x pipe on. I had the mufflers on since new and it sounded good. The x pipe def. added quite a bit of tone and the thing screams after 3k. The resonance is minimal, but you really got to turn the radio up to not hear the exhaust.

Agreed.......I think straight through mufflers sound terrible. All they are is a fancy glass pack...you might as well get some cherry bombs!!!!

this is true, to an extent. remember there are 2 Loumouth types. The I's, which are resonators and sound like crap, and the II's which are similar to Borla Stingers and sound good, even with an O/R mid-pipe. The II's have a perforated ceramic core that will still give you a loud tone, but without that raspy, blatty sound you get with the LMI's.

also, the I's sound pretty good with the stock H, but add a mid-pipe and its a different story.

^^exactly, I had I's with an o/r x and it sounded horribly. Switched to the PowerFlos and was alot better but not loud enough. Now I have The II's waiting to install which should be my last setup.

just give the II's a week or two to break in. at first they'll actually sound pretty tame. give them time. mine are pretty damn loud, just not quite as loud as, and not obnoxious at all like the I's.

Yeah, thats what I have been hearing. I have to wait about 2 more months to put them on when it starts to get nice out. can't wait. they already been sitting in my room for a month and a half :bang:
