ive been nosing around here lately but you guys may be seeing more of me. ive recently sold my 95 and purchased a 00 GT. usually spend quite a bit of time in the 94/95 forums. great bunch of guys there and im sure its the same here. very helpful

anyway- will be doing some exhaust soon on my scary stock mustang. i have no emissions where i live so i do want a O/R mid pipe, which will be a X. i will be keeping my stock manifolds. UPR seems to have the best prices but was curious about fitment and quality. more than likely i will be going with the MAC catback. its cheap and i like the way it sounds. slight chance i may go with borla stinger cb, its on sale for 599 which is a great deal for full stainless. anyone have a UPR O/R X with a mac cb? fitment issues? problems? should i spend the extra and get a mac x pipe to match?

thanks for any advice

I am actually running that setup.

I bought my UPR X used, but the fitment is fine and it is durable... it's seen many a scrapes and is rashed up but still works fine.

I haven't heard anything bad about the Mac X, but the UPR fits the Mac catback just fine.

Here are some clips... all of these are WITHOUT the tail pipes (coming over the axle and then ending).

After the run, there is no more action on the video... accidentally left the camera on:
YouTube - Mustang GT on Dyno

YouTube - GT Autocross

YouTube - Sumitomo Waste

And ONLY the X pipe, no catback... haha.

your car sounds awesome. i love the way the stinger cb sounds but mac sounds awesome too. i can save nearly 300 bucks by going with the mac :nice:

what mods did you have to put down 258/314? mustang dyno or dynojet?

does my diablosport have the ability to turn off the check engine light after i delete the cats?

thanks for the info on the upr pipe!

I have the UPR O/R x on my car. As a matter of fact I just removed it and installed it onto my new car. Fitment was great with ZERO problems. Alot of people give UPR flak for shoddy quality/components. Well all I can say is their X pipe is dead on!

+ I love the way it sounds with my Flows lol.

BTW, it did get a bit rusty(I've had it for 1 year) but since I live in NY I chalk that up to poor weather/humidity/road conditions.

Thanks man! No problem on the info.

Stingers sound absolutely sick. If you have the cash, and it were me, that's what I'd get. But I love the sound of my Mac catback as well, and there is a big price savings as you said.

As far as the power I put down, it's all the mods in my sig. I think the torque is reading a little high however. I want to say it was a DynoComm dyno if I remember correctly. I have never gotten a straight answer to whether or not that is a type of Mustang or Dynojet dyno...

As far as the Diablosport, I believe you will have that option. Mine does, it shut off the CEL triggered by the catless midpipe. Unless they disabled that feature in the newer versions of the Predator, then yes, you will be able to shut yours off. Worst case scenario you have to buy a cheap pair of MIL eliminators if yours won't allow you to for whatever strange reason...:nice:

#2 that says it fits well :nice:

i hope i wont have to worry about the rust issue. it is aluminum and i know eventually it will rust but maybe i wont have too much issue with this in TN. the car isnt a DD so when its rainy or there's salt spread, i can just drive the expo. it will however be parked in a garage (block building) with a gravel floor ( dirt underneath ). maybe that wont create a moisture problem, shouldnt.

my absolute fav sound ( next to a cammed 2v ) is a 4v car with o/r x pipe and borla stingers. its insane. the 2v cars with the same setup sound sweet too tho, almost as good as the 4v :p

if i did end up with the stinger cb, i'd prob go for the pypes o/r x. its priced reasonable and id have full stainless exhaust....but holy crap id have some coin in my exhaust setup

again, your car sounds freakin awesome in the dyno run clip. id be very happy with that sound. i could use the money that would be be for the stingers and put toward pullies, cai, intake, ........ah here we go again :rlaugh:

glad to hear this about my diablosport! i had heard i can turn off the cel with it. dumb question here: what do i do with the bungs ? do i plug them or just screw in my o2's and not connect them?

thanks again!

No problem, and thank you again, lol.

My buddy has a Mach-1 with a catless ProChamber and Stingers and it is one of those :jaw: sounds. It's sooo sick.

Either catback you choose, you can't really go wrong.

My Mac's are rusting a little around the welds but they aren't anywhere near coming apart or anything along those lines. The X pipe isn't rusty at all except from where it has dragged along pavement and gotten pretty nicked up, but even that is just minor rust.

As far as the bungs, screw the o2's back in and connect them to their harnesses just as they would be on the factory midpipe. It won't trigger the CEL for about 50-80 miles after you swap the exhaust, then it will come on. Once you shut it off with the Diablosport, you won't have to deal with it.

can i get away with the stock o2 sensor wires with the upr x or will i need extensions to reach the bungs?

thanks mang !

I had the UPR off road X on my 01 gt and it worked great, made the car much louder with the flowmasters I already had on it.. I bought it used off of a local guy and it fit perfect with no leaks..

On my current car I have a bassani O/R X and magnapacks it came with them when I bought it.

i have a upr x, with bassani's, sounds tits!!!

i also have a diablosport and tuned all my egr/emissions crap off including the o2's

BTW: were you the one selling that pretty 95gt on corral? that thing was imaculate..

wouldnt call it immaculate but was pretty clean - but i appreciate the compliment!

thanks for the info on the x pipe and the tuner
