here are some pictures of how low. Keep in mind this is at stock ride height.

This gives me about 2 inches of clearance between the pipes and the ground. It scrapes my driveway and speedbumps are out of the question. Any ideas?Only thing I can think of is to take it all back off and weld hangers on. The pipes are,according to my mechanic, made for a 5 speed and not an auto, but when I ordered it they didn't say anything about that so I'm a little lost. I need help guys I have a buyer for my 240sx and the money from that will help me finish up the mustang but I need it to be street legal and not drag the exhaust everywhere I go before I sell the 240.

(Sorry the pictures aren't working for some reason, I can't see them atleast. I've tried everything and the pictures wont show up.)

only expierence i had was on my 98 GT bought a offroad X from UPR. It hung low as well. A buddy who makes exhaust bent it at the bends comming from the manifolds so it hung up better. At first it made me catback hang low as well. After bending it the catback sat up so much better.

I would weld a set of hangers on each pipe before they bolt to the muffler flanges. Then loosen up the bolts at the header, hook the hangers to the car and once the x pipe is pulled up where u want it, tighten the bolts at the header. I had to do this with my shorty h pipe when I installed my flows with dumps. :nice:

Your best bet is to loosen all the bolts, use a jack to hold the X-pipe as high as you can get it, then retighten all the bolts.

Unfortunately that is just how those fit, I too have a UPR X-pipe, but plan on changing it.

UPR = Unoriginal Paltry Reproductions.

UPR X-pipes = POOP. :notnice:

I've got one of their cat'ed X-pipes, and I use it ONLY for smog testing; as soon as I get through that one-day process, I yank that sucker off there and throw my off-road X-pipe back on. Not so much because I wanna kill trees and all that, but rather because, like yours, the UPR X-pipe just hangs WAY too low. Not only that, but the cats are welded too far back, so I had to actually cut a section of my tranny crossmember out just to make it clear (barely, by like 1/4", and it still hits a lot under mild/hard throttle input and bumps).

You could try modding it to fit better ... or you could just list it on eBay/Craigslist, ditch it, and buy something better that has tranny crossmember hanger mounts on it, so the damned thing doesn't keep sagging (unless you like jacking the thing up and re-tightening the bolts every couple of weeks like I had to do with mine).

Ok thanks for the input guys. I might just see if the place I bought them at will take them back. When I got them I told them I wanted something to fit like stock and cause no problems...that went out the window. I took off the catless h pipe I had for the catted x pipe and fitment is horrible due to the bending issues casper mentioned and my emissions went up from 400 with the h WITHOUT cats to near 800 on the x WITH cats. Makes no sense. If I can't get the place to take them back I'll try to sell it and get a better made x pipe and just shell out the money. I don't like the idea of having to custom fab the underside of my car for an exhaust (mine anyway). As for the jack on the exhaust I tried that and when I lowered the exhaust it sounded like the bolts creaked and it sagged back down instantly.

Have the same prob with mine. Auto's and upr's dont mix. U cant loosen the bolts and jack it up. It fits nice and clears everything while the car in in park on jack stands, but the minute u put it in drive and hit a bump..... boom. u hit the linkage to the pipe.
