Does anyone have some foggy/foggiest knowledge about why Ford FUSES the connection between alternator "A" terminal and B+ terminal IN SOME vehicles, but not all? For example, 1996 F-Series connects them with no circuit protection at all, while '89 through '93 Mustangs have a Fuse Link in that conductor (wire #36). One vehicle, Explorer, uses an actual Fuse in the engine bay fuse block.
ALL use a 12 gauge Fuse Link, or 2 - 12 gauge links connected in parallel between alternator and battery + connection. That, makes sense, to protect alt. against overloading. Would it be wise to add wiring diagrams, or is my jargon understandable? Thanks much!! imp

A= Alternator +
S= Stator
F= Field
