I checked my oil yesterday, (i'm coming up on my 15,000mi. oil change) and realized that I was down about a quart. I always service the car at the recommended intervals and am wondering if anyone else is using oil.

Not a bit here after 33K miles. Do you see any leaks? I would take it to the dealer, you should not be using/losing that much this early on.

OIL

1 quart in 15,000 miles? The dealer won't even talk to you about it. I read GM won't do anything unless oil useage exceeds 1 qt. in 1000 miles. I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

uh, I think he means he has 15,000 miles on the car; not 15,000 miles since the last oil change

right, 15,000 on the car, but down a quart between 10,000 and now. I've done a quick check for leaks but will lift the car next week to really check it out. As some other forum members have experienced, my car will occassionally puff a little blue smoke on start up. Luckilly, I have a very cooperative dealership, so i shouldn't have any problems if i need to bring the car in.

Mine puffs the blue smoke a few times/month as well, but that alone shouldn't use up a quart of oil in 5000 miles

OIL

Yea, mine OCCASIONALLY gives a blue puff on startup, I think they all (or most) do. I'll still be surprised if the dealer considers 1 qt. in 5000 miles excessive.
