There are several ways of doing it. You can get a complete dual exhaust kit with high flow cats, mufflers and pipes but if your engine is stock I would just put on a free flowing muffler. A stock V6 needs some back pressure or you'll lose your low end torque. If you have a super charger or turbo then the dual exhaust would be best. You can also install one free flow muffler and run dual pipes out from it to look like a dual exhaust but again you may hurt low end power on a stock V6. I found out the hard way on a 99 Camaro with the 3.8 that dual pipes cost power.

take advice to sum1 with a V6 whos making more power then most with your simple bolt ons.....get longtubes a Xpipe Cold air intake and some flowmasters or MAC mufflers the xpipe on long tubes will prolly have no cats which is allowed in your state then go for it otherwise go with shorty headers and catted xpipe this is how my car sounds with just a offroad xpipe flowmasters and a MAC cold air intake

You can use a stock GT H-pipe and catback without worries about loosing power. Or you can do like me and get a catted X-pipe and magnapacks and still gain power ;)

Just get a stock GT H-pipe and buy whatever GT catback system you would like to have. If you get a catback that connects to your Y-pipe, like Flowmaster. Then you need to spend more money to do it right after you have put some more mods on your car to get a better exhaust system on the car.

Do it right the first time and save money

I know of one that got 3" exhaust from headers and back on a NA engine and it didn't hurt him.

Is his engine stock? Mine was and had dual 3" pipes out of a single flowmaster and I lost a bunch of torque with that set up.
