I have a friend with a 5.0 non HO LTD. He says it has an 8.8 with a c-4 auto in it. It's also 5 lug which is what i've been wanting to convert to. I have a 4cyl 89. Does anyone know if these are direct bolt on swaps, including the 5 lug front spindle??? Any help will be great thanks guys

I know the motor and tranny will fit. However if you drop this motor straight into your stang, plan to look at some honda's fart pipes. It will be so slow that they will pass you by.

Dont have info on the rear and rotors.

Yeah I know it's pretty low output. It's not gonna go in the car for a while. It's gonna get some goodies before it goes in. Probly gonna be carbed up instead of efi. For the price if the 8.8 will work and the 5 lug front suspen it will worth it b.c I cant find an 8.8 in the junk yards around here for less than 300 bucks and I can get everything I need from this car for 300. Motor, trans, 5 lug convers and 8.8 to boot.

i put a non -ho 91 marquis motor in my car because my old block was cracked.i went ahead and put a b303 in it while it was out.it's slow as crap so just be prepared.i finally got a set of e7 that i'm porting to replace the crappy e6 heads so hopefully some of my power will be back.

I have a set of HO heads that I had on my 90 notch 5.0 I'll probly bolt them on for a little while until I get a good set of heads. I'm only worried about the 8.8 rear from the crown vic or ltd whatever you wanna call it.

The 8.8 isn't the same type as what's in your Fox. It's wider(alot wider, IIRC I measured 56" from flange to flange) and the spring mounts/shock mounts/control arm mounts are all different. You'd have to get the axle code to find out if it even has a trac-loc or not, most don't. As far as the front spindles, I'm not sure if they'll fit or not, BUT I do know that you can't bolt 16" Mustang wheels on the front of a Crown Vic w/o spacers. The wheels won't rotate. And the hubs, are huge so putting the center caps back on might be an issue too.

also one thing to remember is that the motor in the non-ho so it does not have a roller cam, so when u buy a cam, ur must buy roller lifters.. also the firing order is non ho.. so the firing order is different.. but that is a basic straight forward swap.. good luck on it., as for the rearend and the five lug.. sorry it will not work the rear end is alot wider.. and the front hubs are different

I don't think 91' LTD's (Crown Vic) came with C4's. I could be wrong but I'd say it's most likely a 4spd Overdrive transmission in there not a C4.....Probably an AOD-E. Might want to check that out a bit further. The guy's above are correct, that engine is going to be dead horse. Crappy Head's, Crappy Cam, Crappy Compression etc etc. You Get The Point. I don't mean to discourage you at all but if I were you I woudn't waste your time with that non H.O. 302 It's not hard to find a decent used 5.0HO and trans. these day's. Take your time and when the right deal pop's up snag it. You will have more power and your option's won't be as limited with the H.O. In the long run you'll save money, cause if you buy that Non HO, before you know it you'll be converting it to roller, buying E7's etc. etc. Buy an HO and you already have all of that. Do it right the first time man.

Thanks guys. I found a 79 for car with a 351 windsor and a small-block c-6 and a 9in rear. He said if I pick the car up I can have it for 200 bucks. I've already got 2 people interested in the 9 for 100 bucks. So a 100 dollar car and trans sounds like a plan to me. But thanks for all the info guys.

Also the rear axles are much wider, so you would need different axles. The front spindles would also stick further out since the crown is much wider than a stang. The tranny is an AOD so you could use that if you wanted an auto. Someone mentioned that they put an e cam in a non HO,,what firing order did you use?
