OK I know I have a vacuum leak somewhere. Since I pulled her out for spring the idle gets erratic once its warmed up....but if I pump the breaks rapidly it levels out. Anyone know of any particular lines that have a tendancy to crack or should I just start searching??

The vacuum lines that run from the EGR and smog pump cracked in my car. I put them back together by squeezing a rubber vacuum line around both broken ends and pushing them together. I've heard you can use a vacuum line as a stethescope and just put one end to your ear and move the other end around the vacuum lines to see if you can hear a hissing. I've never done this though.

On another note, do you know where to get new vacuum lines for our cars?

Disconnect the brake booster & cap the connection on the vacuum tree. See if that changes things. If it does, the brake booster or hose that feeds it is bad.

I think Jrichker has the answer your lookng for. You could just try pulling the raake booster hose and plugging it off, your brakes aren't going to work very well, but that will tell you if thats the problem. *golf tee's make a great vacuum line plug.*

There is 2 easier ways. Spray carb cleaner around the vac lines. If the idle revvs up or smoothens out there is your problem. If you don't want to do that you can disconnedt the air inlet tube from the TB and plug it. If your engine still runs you have a major vac leak. You'll hear a hissing sound where your problem is comming from.
