Vacuum Tube v. Bigger Hassle than I thought

I had an AC Vacuum leak. It was quite obvious that the heat and age just wore away the rubber hose from the power booster to the check valve (I believe that's what it's name is.)
At any rate, I didn't know what it connected to inside, so I foolishly tugged at a hose, and voila. It came out. To my enjoyment and dismay. I ran out, got a replacement hose and fittings, and now I can't manage to find the hole from inside the cabin. I've tried snaking stuff through, however it normally just stops after 3-4 inches. I used the hose itself, but it went the opposite way of what it needed to go (It went down to the right, and it needed to go up to the left.)


Any one have any suggestions / thoughts / helpful hints / ways to commit suicide?

I have small arms, and I still can't feel where the damn thing is coming in at. It's the same place that the other AC lines come in.

BTW: This is a '98 Mustang, and it's actually a 3.8L. But I don't think that matters.

PS: I've tried taking the whole AC unit out, thinking that it'd be a cinch. But there's no such luck. Turns out you have to rip apart the whole dash. and, while I will do it if I must, that seems like a round-about way to replace a single vacuum hose the size of a pea.

After working and working, I finally got it. You have to get either very lucky or jury rig it. The section that the AC lines go into on the passenger side is actually a panel, that if you need (which is what I did) you can push forward and run the hose through there. Although not as air tight as how it previously was, I couldn't get it in it's oem spot. It's the only thing I could do, considering I spent 3 hours trying to get it to work and it's a good 90-some odd degrees with no wind down here in Miami. At any rate, if anyone needs to know how to jury rig it, there you go.
